INJURIES

Falls short of qualifying for win Feltner allowed two runs on six hits and three walks while striking out seven batters over 4.2 innings in a no-decision against the Cubs on Tuesday.
Impact Feltner fell behind quickly, giving up a homer to Pete Crow-Armstrong to begin the bottom of the first inning. He yielded another run in the second but kept Chicago off the scoreboard thereafter. Feltner's offense got him three runs and the lead in the top of the fourth frame, but the right-hander was pulled with two outs in the bottom of the inning having thrown 104 pitches. That was easily a season-high mark -- Feltner had previously topped out at 87 pitches in a start against the Dodgers on April 18. Part of the reason for the veteran hurler's elevated pitch count was that the Cubs had trouble putting the ball in play against him, as Chicago batters swung and missed 13 times and fouled off 21 pitches, though that at least helped him to a season-best seven punchouts. Feltner will carry a 5.05 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 33:16 K:BB through 41 innings into his next start, which is lined up to come at home versus Boston.

Begins strong but fades in loss Feltner (2-2) took the loss against the Cubs on Thursday, allowing six runs on four hits and three walks while striking out three batters over 4.1 innings.
Impact Feltner was perfect through three frames, but the bottom fell out thereafter. Chicago got to him for four runs on four hits and a walk in the fourth inning, with the big hit being a grand slam off the bat of Seiya Suzuki. Feltner returned for the fifth and issued two walks while retiring just one batter, and both runners be put on base came around to score after his departure. It was a disappointing outcome after Feltner looked like he might be turning a major corner over his past two outings, during which he gave up just one run over 12 frames. He'll look to get back on track in his next start, which is tentatively scheduled for a rematch against the Cubs in Chicago.

Goes six strong in no-decision Feltner did not factor into the decision in Friday's 9-7 extra-inning loss to the Brewers, allowing one run on one hit and two walks with four strikeouts over six innings.
Impact Feltner allowed a run in the second inning but otherwise kept a dangerous Brewers lineup in check, throwing 51 of 81 pitches for strikes while generating eight whiffs. The outing gave the 29-year-old back-to-back quality starts since returning from the injured list Saturday, both of which have come at Coors Field. He owns a 4.22 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 23:10 K:BB across 32 innings this season and lines up for another home matchup against the Cubs next week.

Returns with six-inning gem Feltner (2-1) earned the win over San Francisco on Saturday, allowing four hits and striking out two batters without issuing a walk over six scoreless innings.
Impact Feltner recently spent time on the injured list due to an elbow injury, and Saturday was his first big-league start since April 23. He was held to 63 pitches in his return, but he nonetheless managed a quality start of six innings by being very efficient, tossing 41 of 63 pitches for strikes. Feltner hadn't completed six innings in any of his five starts before getting hurt, and Saturday was also the first time this season that he hasn't walked a batter. Feltner still has a poor 4.85 ERA overall, but he'll look to build on Saturday's outing in his next start, which is scheduled to be a home matchup against Milwaukee.

Activated ahead of start The Rockies reinstated Feltner (elbow) from the injured list ahead of his start Saturday against the Giants.
Impact Feltner will return to a big-league mound for the first time since landing on the injured list more than a month ago with right ulnar nerve inflammation. He made a pair of rehab starts before coming off the IL, allowing just one earned run while striking out nine batters in 8.2 total innings between Double-A and Triple-A. He'll now be tasked with limiting a surging Giants offense that's posted a .762 OPS over its last 10 games. Welinton Herrera (elbow) was placed on the injured list in a corresponding move.

Set to return Saturday Feltner (elbow) is expected to start Saturday's game against the Giants, MLB.com reports.
Impact Feltner has been sidelined since April 24 but is ready to return after making two rehab assignments. He worked 5.0 innings in his last outing with Triple-A Albuquerque, so he should be able to handle a relatively normal workload. The Rockies will still need to activate Feltner before Saturday's contest to make the move official.

Builds up to five frames in minors Feltner (elbow) struck out five and allowed one earned run on six hits and one walk across five innings Sunday in a rehab start for Triple-A Albuquerque.
Impact Making the second start of his rehab assignment, Feltner moved from Double-A Hartford to Albuquerque and was unfazed by the jump in competition. The 29-year-old pushed his pitch count up to 67 (44 strikes), and the efficient outing could set him up to slot back into the Colorado rotation as soon as this weekend's home series versus the Giants. According to MLB.com, Feltner -- who was placed on the 15-day injured list due to right ulnar nerve inflammation -- returned to Colorado on Monday for a medical checkup, and the Rockies should decide within the next day or two whether he'll make his next start with the big club or in the minors.

Sharp in first rehab start Feltner (elbow) struck out four and allowed three hits and no walks over 3.2 scoreless innings in a rehab start Tuesday with Double-A Hartford.
Impact Feltner saw his first game action in nearly a month after hitting the 15-day injured list April 24 due to right ulnar nerve inflammation. The righty was efficient during his time on the mound, needing 47 pitches to record his 11 outs and allowing just three baserunners, two of which came on infield hits. Feltner is likely to need at least one more outing in the minors to build up his pitch count, but he could have a shot at returning to the Colorado rotation by the end of the month.
