Opens year on IL The White Sox placed Burr on the 10-day injured list Thursday with a right shoulder strain, retroactive to April 4, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.
Impact In addition to Burr, the White Sox placed relievers Joe Kelly (biceps) and Garrett Crochet (elbow) on the IL to begin the season. Burr mostly worked in middle relief and lower-leverage spots in 2021, notching zero saves and three holds across his 34 appearances while submitting a 2.45 ERA and 1.34 WHIP.

Impact Burr will be up with the White Sox for the second time this season after churning out a 2.95 ERA and 1.08 WHIP in 19 relief appearances during a two-month stint with the big club earlier in 2021. He'll likely be deployed mostly in low-leverage spots, making it difficult to mine value from him even in AL-only leagues where holds are a category.

Picks up shaky win Burr (2-0) allowed two runs on three hits while striking out one but got the win over the Twins on Tuesday.
Impact Burr entered the eighth clinging onto a one-run lead and allowed that to vanish after facing just two batters. He surrendered a leadoff single before Jorge Polanco took him deep to right to give the Twins their first lead of the game. Fortunately for him, the White Sox rallied off five runs in the bottom half of the frame to put him in line for the win. The 27-year-old has been excellent almost all year, as this was just his second outing he's given up a run. He now owns a 1.96 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 16:8 K:BB over 18.1 innings.
