INJURIES

Pulled short of five innings again Gasser allowed one run on three hits and two walks while striking out five batters over 4.2 innings in a no-decision against the Cubs on Monday.
Impact Gasser held Chicago scoreless through four frames before serving up a solo homer to Pedro Ramirez with two outs in the fifth. He then hit a batter and issued a walk before being given the hook by manager Pat Murphy. Gasser was at only 83 pitches at that point, but the Cubs had a pair of right-handed batters coming up, which may have influenced the decision to yank the lefty hurler. It was the fourth time over Gasser's past six starts that he hasn't completed five frames, and he's pitched to a mediocre 4.40 ERA across 28.2 innings during that span. Gasser is slated for a home matchup against the Reds his next time out.

Lasts 4.1 innings in no-decision Gasser did not factor into the decision Tuesday against the Cubs, allowing three runs (two earned) on three hits and two walks while striking out four over 4.1 innings.
Impact Gasser allowed just one hit through the first three innings before running into trouble in the fourth, when three consecutive batters reached to open the frame. An error by Gasser compounded the damage as Chicago pushed across three runs in the inning. The left-hander has now failed to complete five innings in three of his last five starts. He owns a 4.57 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 82:27 K:BB across 86.2 innings this season and is slated for a rematch with the Cubs in his next start.

Steps up after May's early exit Gasser (4-5) earned the win Wednesday against the Mets, allowing one run on six hits and two walks while striking out six over 5.1 innings of relief.
Impact Gasser was called into action after Dustin May took a line drive off the back of his shoulder and exited just one pitch into the game. The left-hander responded with a strong outing, throwing 59 of his 82 pitches for strikes while recording his fifth quality start in 16 outings this season. Gasser has pitched well since the All-Star break, posting a 3.75 ERA with a 35:11 K:BB across 36 innings over seven starts. He's lined up to pitch again Sunday against the Rangers.

Impact The left-hander has surrendered at least three runs in each of his past three starts and has completed five frames just one of those outings. It's been an up-and-down campaign for Gasser, who has a 4.79 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 72:23 K:BB across 77 innings this year. Regardless of when he next takes the mound, the 27-year-old is likely to get a couple starts in the near future since Milwaukee doesn't have its next day off until Sept. 10.

Early hook in no-decision Gasser did not factor into the decision in Thursday's 7-4 win over the Mariners, allowing four runs on four hits and four walks with four strikeouts over 3.2 innings.
Impact Gasser was given a 6-0 lead in the first inning but was inefficient, throwing 46 of 77 pitches for strikes while matching a season-high four walks. It marked the second time the southpaw was unable to complete at least four frames in 15 starts this season and ended a streak of five straight outings allowing three earned runs or fewer. He'll take a 4.79 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 72:23 K:BB across 77 innings into a road matchup with the Mets next week.

Strikes out seven in loss Gasser (3-5) allowed three runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out seven over 6.1 innings to take the loss versus the Dodgers on Friday.
Impact Gasser posted a quality start, but he was also tagged for solo home runs by Andy Pages and Tommy Edman. This was the first time Gasser has allowed a long ball in his last four starts, and he's given up just nine runs over 22 innings in that span. For the season, he's posted a 4.54 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 68:19 K:BB through 73.1 innings over 14 starts. He's projected to make his next start in another tough matchup at home versus Atlanta next week.

Shaky in no-decision Gasser took a no-decision against the Twins on Saturday, allowing three runs on seven hits and two walks in 4.2 innings. He struck out three.
Impact Minnesota did its damage in the second inning, plate each of its three runs on the evening during the second inning to leave Gasser with a poor showing overall. The southpaw is beginning to lose his control a bit as of late, walking multiple batters in back-to-back outings in August after issuing a lone free pass across his four July appearances altogether. Gasser has a 4.57 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 61:18 K:BB over 67 innings, making him a risky fantasy option against the Dodgers his next time out.

Remains effective Saturday Gasser allowed one run on four hits and two walks while striking out six over five innings in a no-decision versus the Angels on Saturday.
Impact Gasser has seemingly turned a corner, allowing just four runs over his last 16 innings across three games, though he hasn't exactly faced tough competition in that stretch. The southpaw is now at a 4.48 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 58:16 K:BB through 62.1 innings over 12 starts this season. One of Gasser, Shane Drohan or Brandon Sproat is likely to give up their rotation spot when Kyle Harrison (forearm) comes off the injured list next week, but all have pitched fairly well in recent starts.
