Dillon Peters - May rejoin rotation Tuesday GM Ben Cherington said Peters (back) could return from the injured list to start Tuesday versus the Tigers, Mike Persak of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Impact Peters landed on the shelf Aug. 28 with a strained lower back, and Tuesday would be the first day he's eligible to be activated. If he's able to start, the left-hander shouldn't face significant workload limitations given the brevity of his absence.

Shea Spitzbarth - Back with Pirates Spitzbarth was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis on Sunday, Rob Biertempfel of The Athletic reports.

Impact The 26-year-old has been at Triple-A since mid-August and will rejoin the big-league club Sunday with JT Brubaker (shoulder) and Duane Underwood (shoulder) headed to the injured list. Spitzbarth has covered only 3.1 frames in the majors this season but has a 1.56 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 34:17 K:BB over 40.1 innings at Indianapolis.

Kyle Keller - Quick return to majors Keller was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis on Sunday, Rob Biertempfel of The Athletic reports.

Impact The 28-year-old was sent down to Triple-A on Friday but will quickly rejoin the big-league roster with JT Brubaker (shoulder) and Duane Underwood (shoulder) landing on the injured list. Keller has a 7.13 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 25:18 K:BB over 24 innings out of the bullpen for the Pirates this year.
