Impact The 26-year-old hasn't slowed down a bit since the All-Star break, going 9-for-25 (.360) with a home run, three RBI and four runs scored in his last six games. Reynolds continues to hit consistently in the middle of Pittsburgh's order with a .306/.390/.519 slash line through 392 plate appearances. Gregory Polanco - Records steal Wednesday Polanco went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Wednesday's 6-4 loss to Arizona.

Impact Polanco got aboard with a single in the second inning, then stole second and scored on a Jared Oliva single. This was Polanco's 10th steal of the season, giving him his fifth campaign at double digits in stolen bases. He's added 10 home runs, 25 RBI, 26 runs scored and a .203/.281/.371 slash line through 270 plate appearances.

Duane Underwood Jr. - Charged with loss Underwood (2-3) took the loss versus Arizona on Wednesday. He allowed two runs on three hits and struck out one in one inning.

Impact Underwood was taken deep back-to-back by Pavin Smith and Daulton Varsho, and that was enough to stick the right-hander with the loss. Wednesday was the first time in 31 appearances Underwood allowed multiple homers. He's posted a 5.02 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 48:19 K:BB through 52 innings, but nine of the 29 earned runs he's allowed have come in his last three outings.

Max Kranick - Unimpressive in no-decision Kranick allowed four runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out three over three innings in a no-decision versus Arizona on Wednesday.

Impact The 24-year-old has now made three starts this year, and the last two have been uninspiring. Kranick owns a 5.73 ERA and 1.36 WHIP through 11 innings this season, which suggests he'll be little more than a fill-in starter while Chase De Jong (knee) is on the injured list. Kranick lines up for a home start versus Milwaukee next week if he remains in the rotation.

Impact Varsho provided some insurance by going back-to-back with Pavin Smith off Pittsburgh reliever Duane Underwood in the seventh inning. The homer was just the second of the season in 113 plate appearances for Varsho, although both of his long balls have come in his last six games. Impact Smith got the start at first base Wednesday. He came up clutch in the seventh inning with a go-ahead solo shot off Pittsburgh reliever Duane Underwood. Through 362 plate appearances, Smith has recorded nine homers, 31 RBI, 44 runs scored and a stolen base while maintaining a .265/.323/.419 slash line. He's seen most of his playing time in center field lately, but he can also spell Christian Walker at first base as he did Wednesday.
