Impact Senzel was scratched from the lineup ahead of Tuesday's 9-0 loss to the White Sox, but that was mostly for precautionary purposes while he managed a sore shoulder. The injury is apparently only a minor concern for Senzel, who should see the bulk of the work in center field over Tyler Naquin now that his bat has begun to wake up. Over his last 10 games, Senzel is slashing .303/.385/.424 with a home run and a 5:4 BB:K.

Impact This is already the second time the oft-injured outfielder has dealt with a shoulder injury this season, as he left the Reds' Opening Day contest for the same reason. He missed only one game that time, but it remains to be seen if he'll be similarly lucky this time around. Tyler Naquin entered the lineup as his replacement.

Gets another look at keystone Senzel will start at second base and bat seventh Sunday against the Cubs.

Impact Senzel came up through the Reds' farm system as an infielder, but he's logged more than 99 percent of his innings in the outfield since reaching the majors in 2019. However, he'll be picking up his second start at the keystone in four games as the Reds look to find a replacement for rookie Jonathan India, who was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday. Given that India looked overmatched over his first month in the big leagues, he could be optioned to Triple-A Louisville once activated from the IL. That could allow Senzel to settle in as the Reds' everyday second baseman, while opening up a regular role in the outfield for the hot-hitting Tyler Naquin, who carries a .934 OPS into Sunday's contest.
