Rebounds with strong outing in win Lodolo (1-1) earned the win Monday against the Mets, allowing one run on six hits while striking out seven over six innings.
Impact Lodolo looked much sharper in his fourth start since returning from the injured list, throwing 65 of his 98 pitches for strikes while generating 15 whiffs. The left-hander held New York scoreless through five innings before Marcus Semien led off the sixth with a solo homer. Command had been a major issue during Lodolo's previous starts, where he allowed 12 runs across 15 innings with an 11:9 K:BB, but Monday he didn't issue a walk. The 28-year-old now owns a 5.57 ERA and 1.38 WHIP through 21 innings and is slated to face Atlanta next.

Lacks control in no-decision Lodolo took a no-decision Monday against the Phillies, allowing three runs on three hits and five walks in 5.2 innings. He struck out three.
Impact Lodolo is struggling to find his footing since making his season debut earlier this month, having now given up at least three runs in all of his first three starts. It's also worth noting that the southpaw has hit a batter and been taken yard at least once in each outing so far, so neither his control nor his command have been particularly sharp. Lodolo will try to get himself on track in his next scheduled appearance versus St. Louis this weekend, holding a 7.20 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 11:9 K:BB over 15 innings.

Unravels quickly Wednesday Lodolo came away with a no-decision in Wednesday's 8-7 extra-inning loss to the Nationals, coughing up five runs on six hits and three walks over four innings. He struck out six.
Impact The left-hander looked dialed in to begin the game, striking out the side in the first inning on just 12 pitches, but Lodolo cooled down as the Reds batted around and racked up five runs in the bottom of the frame. Once he re-took the mound, he couldn't quite hit his spots, and the Nats immediately struck back for four runs before tying it up in the third. Lodolo got the hook after 87 pitches (54 strikes), and over two starts since his belated season debut due to a blister issue he's stumbled to an 8.68 ERA, 1.61 WHIP and 8:4 K:BB over 9.1 innings. He'll try to find that first-inning form and make it last in his next trip to the mound, which is set to come on the road early next week in Philadelphia.

Hurt by long ball in return Lodolo (0-1) took the loss Friday, giving up four runs on five hits and a walk over 5.1 innings as the Red were routed 10-0 by the Astros. He struck out two.
Impact Making his first start of the season after a blister issue cost him the first six weeks, Lodolo tossed 53 of 78 pitches for strikes but served up a pair of two-run homers, one by Zach Dezenzo in the second inning and the other by Yordan Alvarez in the sixth. Lodolo didn't shy away from using all his pitches and his fingers appeared to emerge from the outing unscathed, but his velocity did decline in his final inning of work. The southpaw will look to build up his stamina and sharpen his command in his next trip to the mound, which is set to come at home next week against the Nationals.

Activated ahead of season debut The Reds activated Lodolo (finger) from the 15-day injured list Friday.
Impact After missing the first six weeks of the season with a blister on his left index finger, Lodolo is set to make his season debut Friday with a start at home against the Astros. The left-hander threw 79 pitches in his final rehab start, so he's not expected to have any real workload limitations versus Houston. Lodolo contributed a 3.33 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 156:31 K:BB across 156.2 innings for Cincinnati last season.

No limits in return Lodolo (finger) expects no limitations when he makes his season debut Friday, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.
Impact Lodolo, who has been rehabbing from a blister on his left index finger, met with team officials following Saturday's rehab start for Triple-A Louisville and is expected to be activated off the 15-day injured list to start against the Astros. The left-hander threw 79 pitches in the rehab outing, including "16 or 17" sliders, which is the pitch that originally caused the blister.
MAY 5 • ROTOWIRE
Poised to come off IL on Friday Lodolo (finger) is expected to return from the 15-day injured list to start Friday's home game against the Astros, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Impact Lodolo -- who has been on the shelf all season due to a blister on his left index finger -- made the third and final start of his rehab assignment Saturday, striking out six batters and allowing two earned runs on five hits and two walks over 4.1 innings for Triple-A Louisville. The left-hander built up to 79 pitches in the outing, so he should be ready to handle a fairly normal workload next weekend in what would be his 2026 debut for the Reds. Before the Reds lock Lodolo into their upcoming pitching schedule, he'll likely need to complete a bullpen session Monday or Tuesday without incident.

Taking rehab to Triple-A The Reds transferred Lodolo's (finger) rehab assignment to Triple-A Louisville on Saturday.
Impact Lodolo looked sharp in his rehab outing with High-A Dayton this past Sunday, when he allowed two hits and zero walks while striking out seven across five innings. He's been cleared to move his rehab assignment to Triple-A, and he may need just one outing with Louisville before being cleared to return to the big club. Lodolo is in the final stages of his recovery from a blister on his left index finger that landed him on the 15-day injured list prior to the start of the regular season.
