Lands on IL
The Rangers placed Eovaldi (triceps) on the 15-day injured list Sunday, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
Impact
Eovaldi experienced right triceps fatigue coming out of his most recent outing Tuesday, but the Rangers were initially optimistic that he would avoid a stint on the IL and would be ready to pitch after getting a few extra days of rest between starts. In fact, Eovaldi told Kennedi Landry of MLB.com earlier Sunday that he was feeling good and was hopeful to return to action Wednesday or Thursday versus the Rays, but the Rangers' brass evidently felt it was better to give the veteran righty some additional time off. Per Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News, general manager Chris Young reiterated that Eovaldi has nothing structurally wrong with his arm, and the Rangers appear optimistic that he'll be able to return from the IL around the time that he's first eligible in mid-June. Kumar Rocker (shoulder) is on track to be activated from the IL to start the next time Eovaldi's turn in the rotation comes up Wednesday.

Next start pushed back
Manager Bruce Bochy said Friday that Eovaldi (triceps) will have his next turn through the rotation pushed back a few days, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.
Impact
The veteran right-hander was originally expected to make his next turn through the rotation as scheduled Tuesday after departing his last start due to triceps soreness, but the Rangers will instead take advantage of Monday's team off day to get him some extra rest. That lines up Eovaldi to pitch during next weekend's three-game set in Washington, giving him at least nine days to recover between outings.

Expected to make next start
The Rangers announced that Eovaldi (triceps) was removed from Tuesday's game as a precaution and is not expected to miss time due to the issue, Kenndi Landry of MLB.com reports.
Impact
Eovaldi will be monitored over the coming days, but the plan, for now, is for him to make his next start, slated for next Tuesday in Tampa. It will help that the Rangers are off Thursday and next Monday, which keeps the rotation in order while giving Eovaldi two extra days of rest.

Dealing with triceps issue
Eovaldi (triceps) exited Tuesday's contest against the Blue Jays early with right triceps fatigue, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Impact
Eovaldi was pulled from the game after throwing 39 pitches over two scoreless innings on the mound. The right-hander's removal from the game is considered to be for precautionary reasons and the Rangers don't expect him to miss any time. Eovaldi can be considered day-to-day for the time being with his next projected start expected to come June 3 in Tampa Bay.
