Goes on IL with elbow inflammation
The Rangers placed Eovaldi on the 15-day injured list Monday with right posterior elbow inflammation.
Impact
There's no word yet on how much time Eovaldi might miss, but if there's a silver lining it's that the elbow injury is not related to his UCL. Eovaldi has been slated to start Wednesday's game against the Angels, but the Rangers will likely turn to Cal Quantrill to make that start.

Gives up one run in no-decision
Eovaldi didn't factor into the decision Friday against the Orioles after allowing one run on four hits and two walks while striking out two over 5.1 innings.
Impact
Eovaldi kept Baltimore off the board outside of Coby Mayo's RBI single in the second inning, though he wasn't especially dominant with just two strikeouts. The right-hander departed with one out in the sixth and Texas still trailing 1-0, leaving him in line for the loss before Pederson's two-run homer later in the frame took him off the hook. Eovaldi lowered his ERA to 4.21 with the solid outing, though his lack of strikeouts limited his fantasy production Friday. His next start is scheduled on the road against the Angels.

Hit hard in loss
Eovaldi (10-9) took the loss against the Astros on Friday, allowing six runs on 10 hits and one walk with five strikeouts over five innings.
Impact
Eovaldi threw 60 of 94 pitches for strikes with a solid 14 whiffs, but he allowed two homers and 12 hard-hit balls overall. It ended an underwhelming July for the veteran hurler, who posted a 5.67 ERA over five starts while yielding three earned runs or more in four of them. He'll take a 4.31 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 135:30 K:BB across 127.1 innings this season into a home matchup with the Giants next week.

Reaches 10-win mark
Eovaldi (10-8) allowed one run on three hits and a walk while striking out eight over seven innings to earn the win over the Mariners on Saturday.
Impact
Eovaldi had allowed 11 runs (10 earned) across 15 innings over his first three starts in July. He bounced back with a gem Saturday, never giving the Mariners much to work with as he threw 61 of 91 pitches for strikes. Eovaldi has maintained a 4.05 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 130:29 K:BB through 122.1 innings over 20 starts this season, and he's allowed one run or less in six of those games. The veteran right-hander is projected to make his next start on the road versus the Rays.

Burned by long ball in eighth loss
Eovaldi (9-8) took the loss Sunday against Atlanta, allowing four runs on six hits and two walks in four innings. He struck out two.
Impact
Eovaldi was never quite able to find a groove Sunday, surrendering one run in each of his four frames of work and three solo home runs on the afternoon. The veteran right-hander has given up at least three runs in all but one of his last 10 outings, though he does have five quality starts during that period. Eovaldi has a 4.21 ERA this year, his worst mark since 2019, but his 1.21 WHIP and 122:28 K:BB over 115.1 innings are more encouraging figures.

Eovaldi (illness) will start Sunday's game against Atlanta, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Impact
Eovaldi was sick over the All-Star break but feels significantly better this weekend and is ready to roll for Sunday's series finale. The veteran right-hander posted a 9-7 record, 4.04 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 120:26 K:BB across 111.1 innings spanning 18 starts prior to the Midsummer Classic. In a dozen starts since April 29, Eovaldi has a 3.32 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 88:17 K:BB across 78.2 frames.

Impact
Eovaldi picked up an illness during the All-Star break, but it no longer seems like he's at risk of missing any starts. The 36-year-old finished the first half by posting a 3.48 ERA and 1.16 WHIP across 31 innings in his last five starts, reaching nine strikeouts four times and also collecting four wins in that span.

Under the weather
Eovaldi is dealing with an illness but is lined up to start against Atlanta on Sunday, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.
Impact
It looks like Eovaldi picked something up over the All-Star break, but he may not end up missing significant time as long as he's cleared to start in Sunday's series finale. The veteran right-hander posted a 9-7 record across 18 starts in the first half of the regular season, along with a 4.04 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 120:26 K:BB across 111.1 innings.
