INJURIES

Fades late in 10 K effort Eovaldi struck out 10 batters and allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits and two walks over six-plus innings in a no-decision against the Angels on Thursday.
Impact Eovaldi carried a 6-1 lead into the seventh inning but saw all three batters he faced in that frame to reach base on a catcher's interference call, a walk and a single. That allowed a run to cross the plate and led to his removal, and both of the runners he turned over to the bullpen also eventually came home to score. It was a disappointing finish for the veteran hurler, but he was still credited with a quality start and was very impressive in racking up 23 whiffs en route to a season-high 10 punchouts. Eovaldi has given up three earned runs or fewer in five straight starts and has tallied a standout 43:6 K:BB across 31 innings during that span as he's finished the first half of the campaign with a flourish. Overall this season, he ranks 12th in MLB with 120 strikeouts while recording a 4.04 ERA and 1.18 WHIP across 111.1 frames spanning 18 starts.

Strikes out nine in victory Eovaldi (9-7) earned the win over Detroit on Thursday, allowing three runs on six hits and one walk while striking out nine batters over five innings.
Impact Eovaldi began his outing with four scoreless frames and took a 5-0 lead into the fifth. A pair of Tigers homers in that inning trimmed Texas' advantage to 5-3 and resulted in that being Eovaldi's final frame, but the right-hander still emerged with his ninth win. Despite his rough final inning, Eovaldi was mostly dominant, racking up 18 whiffs and tying his season high with nine punchouts -- a mark he has reached in three consecutive contests. The veteran hurler has won four straight starts and will look to extend that streak the next time he takes the mound, which is tentatively slated to be at home against the Angels.

Fires seven scoreless Eovaldi (8-7) earned the win Friday against the Blue Jays, giving up five hits and one walk while striking out nine batters over seven shutout innings.
Impact The Rangers' offense gave Eovaldi a 3-0 lead to work with before he threw his first pitch of the game, and he did everything he could to prevent the Blue Jays from closing the gap. The 36-year-old righty didn't allow more than one baserunner in an inning until his final two frames, but he managed to escape both jams without allowing a run, thanks to a double play ball from Vladimir Guerrero in the sixth and a couple of timely strikeouts to finish the seventh. Eovaldi has now logged three consecutive wins and quality starts while posting a 24:3 K:BB across 20 innings in that span, giving him plenty of momentum heading into his next start against Cleveland.

Fans season-high nine in win Eovaldi (7-7) earned the win Sunday against San Diego, allowing three runs on seven hits and one walk in six innings. He struck out nine.
Impact After being scratched from his scheduled start Saturday due to left knee soreness, Eovaldi looked no worse for wear Sunday while logging his eighth quality start of the year and keeping the ball in the park as well. The 36-year-old right-hander recorded a season high in punchouts, also generating an impressive 16 whiffs on the afternoon. Eovaldi still has a lackluster 4.24 ERA, but his 1.18 WHIP and 92:22 K:BB over 93.1 frames are much more encouraging figures.

Expected to start Sunday Eovaldi (knee) will start Sunday's series finale against the Padres, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.
Impact The Rangers scratched Eovaldi from his scheduled start Saturday due to left knee soreness, but the level of concern within the organization is evidently low since the veteran will end up being pushed back by just one day. Eovaldi has dropped three of his last four decisions, posting a 5.23 ERA and 1.19 WHIP over his last five starts.

Scratched from start Eovaldi was scratched from his start Saturday against the Padres due to left knee soreness, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Lasts seven frames in sixth win Eovaldi (6-7) earned the win Sunday, allowing three runs on six hits and a walk over seven innings against Boston. He struck out six.
Impact Aside from surrendering a pair of homers to Willson Contreras, Eovaldi was effective and gave Texas great length en route to picking up his sixth win. The veteran has consistently worked deep into games this season, completing at least seven innings in seven of his 14 starts. The right-hander owns a 4.23 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 83:21 K:BB across 87.1 innings and will look to stay in the win column next time out, tentatively scheduled for Saturday against San Diego.

Fades late in loss Eovaldi (5-7) took the loss against Kansas City on Tuesday, allowing four runs on four hits and three walks while striking out three batters over 5.2 innings.
Impact Eovaldi got through four scoreless frames before serving up a solo homer to Jac Caglianone in the fifth inning. Things got worse for the veteran hurler in the sixth, as he surrendered two doubles and a triple before being pulled with two outs and was ultimately charged with three more runs. Eovaldi didn't have his swing-and-miss stuff working, as he induced just six whiffs and finished with three punchouts, tying a season-low mark. He's now given up at least four earned runs in three straight starts, pushing his ERA up to 4.26 to go along with a 1.18 WHIP and 77:20 K:BB over 80.1 innings spanning 13 starts.
