Impact Los Angeles designated utility man Amed Rosario for assignment to clear room on the active roster for Betts, who will return to the lineup Monday in Milwaukee for his first start since June 16. Despite being sidelined for nearly two months, Betts wasn't required to go out on a minor-league rehab assignment before being activated, as the Dodgers instead had him ramp up through live at-bats during batting practice this past week. Betts has made all 72 of his starts this season at either shortstop or second base, but he's set to take on a full-time role in right field now that he's made a full recovery from a fractured left wrist. Jason Heyward is expected to lose out on a regular spot in the lineup versus right-handed pitching as a result of Betts' return.

Will play right field in return Manager Dave Roberts said Friday that Betts (hand) will play in right field when he returns Monday against the Brewers, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Impact Roberts added that he and Betts talked about the move Thursday evening, and decided it was best to move the 31-year-old back to right field moving forward, per Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times. Betts' return to right field means Nick Ahmed and Miguel Rojas will continue to serve at shortstop, while Jason Heyward sees less playing time in the outfield, though Roberts could tinker with his lineup depending on who's on the mound. Betts has been sidelined since June 17 due to a bone fracture in his left wrist. Prior to the injury, he was slashing .304/.405/.488 with nine stolen bases, 10 home runs and 40 RBI across 331 plate appearances.

Impact Betts is targeting a return to the major-league roster during the team's upcoming road trip beginning Monday and when he returns, he'll be batting one slot back in the lineup. Betts has spent the entirety of the year as the leadoff hitter for Los Angeles, but he'll now operate in the two-hole behind Shohei Ohtani and ahead of Freddie Freeman, breaking up the left-handers. With Ohtani's on-base percentage sitting at .397 on the year, the move in the lineup could lead to a slight increase in RBI opportunities for Betts.
