Jhoan Duran - Picks up 23rd save Duran picked up the save Sunday against the Pirates. He allowed one hit and zero walks while striking out two over a scoreless inning.
Impact Only a Brian Reynolds infield single prevented a clean frame for Duran, who has now allowed at least one hit his last 13 outings. Duran now has 23 saves in 27 opportunities and holds a 2.77 ERA and 1.15 WHIP to go along with 68 strikeouts in 48.2 innings.

Dallas Keuchel - Carries perfecto into the seventh Keuchel (1-1) earned the win Sunday, allowing one hit and zero walks over 6.1 scoreless innings in a 2-0 victory over the Pirates. He struck out three.
Impact Keuchel had not allowed a baserunner through six, then was removed with one out in the seventh when Brian Reynolds broke up the perfect game with a double. Keuchel, making just his third start for the Twins since initially inking a minor league deal in June, threw a season high 85 pitches and recorded his first three strikeouts of the campaign. Prior to joining the Twins, Keuchel had recorded a 1.13 ERA over 32 innings in Triple-A, hinting that the 2015 Cy Young award winner may still have something to offer. He'll face a much stiffer test in his next projected start during a weekend series at home against the Rangers.

Donovan Solano - Nabs sixth straight start Solano will start at first base and bat second in Sunday's game against the Pirates.
Impact Solano will stick in the starting nine for the sixth game in a row after going 7-for-22 with a double and an RBI over the previous five contests. The Twins are facing a left-handed opening pitcher (Ryan Borucki) on Sunday, so the righty-hitting Solano could end up giving way to the lefty-hitting Joey Gallo midway through the contest, when right-hander Osvaldo Bido is expected to take over for Pittsburgh.

Impact Ortega was productive at Triple-A after getting sent down July 26 as he had a 0.87 ERA (10.1 IP, 1 ER) with three saves, 15 strikeouts and two walks. He had a 4.50 ERA (14.0 IP, 7 ER) with 14 strikeouts and four walks in two prior stints with the Twins this season.

Jordan Balazovic - Optioned to Triple-A Balazovic was optioned to Triple-A Rochester, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Impact Balazovic gave up three runs with three walks in an inning in Saturday's loss. He's struggled with an 8.71 ERA and 7:8 K:BB ratio in 10.1 innings over his last seven appearances. He could return in September, however, when rosters expand as the Twins have had turnover in the bullpen.

Sonny Gray - Takes tough loss Gray (6-6) took the loss Saturday, allowing four runs on four hits and three walks over 6.2 innings against Pittsburgh. He struck out seven.
Impact The 33-year-old righty was perfect through 5.1 innings, but an infield single by Liover Peguero started a three-run Pittsburgh rally in the sixth. Gray was chased from the game with two outs in the seventh after issuing a pair of walks, one of which came around to score later in the frame, charging the veteran hurler with his fourth earned run of the contest. In seven starts since the All-Star break, Gray owns a 3.74 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 46:11 K:BB across 43.1 innings. He is projected to face a tough Rangers lineup at home next week.
