Impact It was a typical outing for Boyle, as he generated 30 called or swinging strikes among his 104 pitches but issued at least three free passes for the seventh straight start in the majors, a streak that stretches back into April. The 25-year-old righty has a 5.40 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 20:10 K:BB through 15 innings over three outings since getting called back up, but Oakland will let him work through his control issues in the hopes that he can emerge as a reliable rotation option. Willy Adames - On base four times in win Adames went 2-for-3 with two walks, two runs scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 9-5 win over the A's.

Impact The shortstop has been displaying incredible plate discipline of late, drawing two walks in four of the last five games -- something he hadn't done even once since July 22. Adames' steal was his 14th of the year, adding to his new career high, and through 21 contests in August he's batting .270 (20-for-74) with five homers, two stolen bases, 14 RBI and 17 runs.

Colin Rea - Hangs on for 12th win Rea (12-4) picked up the win Saturday, giving up four runs on eight hits over 6.2 innings in a 9-5 victory over the A's. He struck out five without walking a batter.

Impact The Brewers took a 5-1 lead into the sixth inning, but Rea nearly coughed it up before finally exiting the mound after 102 pitches (76 strikes) with the tying run on second base. Milwaukee's bullpen bailed out the right-hander, and the offense added some insurance runs late. Rea's 12 wins are double his previous career high, and he has issued zero free passes in three straight starts while striking out 14 in 19.2 innings. He lines up to make his next start on the road next weekend in Cincinnati.
