Jesús Sánchez - Provides only runs in victory Sanchez went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a double in a 2-0 win over St. Louis on Wednesday.
Impact Sanchez mashed a 439-foot, two-run shot off Miles Mikolas in the third inning. That proved to be the difference-maker, as neither team managed to score at any point during the rest of the game. Sanchez's homer was his third of the second half of the campaign through 11 contests after he entered the All-Star break in a 23-game homerless drought. He's up to 10 home runs on the season after swatting a career-high 18 across 149 regular-season contests last year.

Impact Faucher entered in the ninth inning tasked with protecting a 2-0 lead. He needed nine pitches to get the first batter he faced out, then needed just seven more offerings to retire St. Louis' next two hitters. Faucher is clearly in the closer mix for the Marlins, as he has registered two of the team's past three saves and leads the squad with 10 saves on the campaign. Impact All three of the hits Quantrill gave up were singles, and he escaped a one-out, bases-loaded jam in his final inning to emerge with the victory. Impact Wagaman is on the bench against a right-handed starter (Miles Mikolas) for the second day in a row and for the third time in the last four games. Dating back to the start of July, Wagaman has contributed a lowly .431 OPS in 20 games, and his poor stretch of production appears to have cost him his role as the Marlins' everyday first baseman.
