Secures first win in five weeks
Stroman improved to 10-13 after tossing five innings and giving up two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out four Tuesday in the Mets' 5-2 win in the first game of a d...
Impact
Making his MLB-leading 33rd start of the season, Stroman cruised through the first three frames before enduring some turbulence in the top of the fourth. After following up a leadoff walk by allowing a home run to Lewin Diaz, Stroman retired three of the next four batters to limit the damage that inning. The New York bullpen then held down the fort for the final two frames of the seven-inning game, after Stroman departed with a 3-2 lead. Manager Luis Rojas hasn't indicated that Stroman will be shut down following Tuesday's outing, so the right-hander could make one last start in the Mets' season finale Sunday in Atlanta.

One inning later, he surrendered two homers in the span of three batters to ruin his outing. Stroman allowed one run on four hits with seven strikeouts over 6.1 innings in Thursday's no-decision against the Marlins.
Impact
Stroman just keeps humming along, logging his fourth quality start in his last five outings. He put up zeroes for the first five innings Thursday before a Jazz Chisholm RBI groundout finally got the Marlins on the board in the sixth. Impact
The right-hander exited after 94 pitches (54 strikes) in line for the win with the Mets ahead 9-3, but the bullpen coughed up six runs in the next two innings. Stroman issued more than two free passes for the first time since June 27 and saw his quality start streak snapped at three in the mediocre effort. He'll take a 2.93 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 136:39 K:BB through 156.2 innings into his next outing.
