Impact Urias didn't need to be nearly as good as he was, as the Dodgers held a 11-0 lead by the time he threw his first pitch in the bottom of the first inning. The lead had been stretch to 15-0 by the time he allowed his only run, a solo homer by Cristian Pache. He now owns a 0.69 ERA in 13 inning this postseason, striking out 16 batters while walking just three.

Impact The Dodgers had to alter their plans after Clayton Kershaw was scratched from his scheduled Game 2 start due to back spasms. Tony Gonsolin will handle that game, with Urias lined up for Game 3. Kershaw may be ready to pitch by Game 4, though the Dodgers have yet to announce their plans for him. Urias has struck out 11 and walked just one in eight scoreless innings of relief so far this postseason.

Impact Walker Buehler was pulled after four innings, so Urias came on and was the pitcher of record in the 4-2 series-opening victory. He needed 52 pitches to get through the three frames, but he was in control throughout. Given the Dodgers' pitching depth, Urias probably won't be used again until the second round.

Postseason role uncertain Dodgers manager Dave Roberts indicated Tuesday that he is not sure of the role Urias will play in the postseason, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

Impact Urias has started in each of his 10 appearances this season, posting a 3.49 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 40:16 K:BB while winning three games. Those numbers are certainly respectable, but the emergence of rookies Tony Gonsolin and Dustin May along with the looming return of Walker Buehler (finger) may push Urias out of a postseason rotation spot. There is also concern about Urias' first-inning struggles this season; he has posted a 9.00 in the first frame through his 10 starts while registering a 1.85 ERA over his remaining 39 innings.

The quality start was the left-hander's third of the season and the second in his last three outings. He departed in line for a win but had to settle for a no-decision after Houston staged an improbable comeback in the ninth inning. Urias will carry a 3.53 ERA and 1.29 WHIP into his next start, currently scheduled for Thursday at Colorado.
