Hit hard in short outing Teheran allowed four runs on three hits and one walk in two innings against Arizona on Tuesday. He did not factor in the decision.

Impact The veteran didn't give up an exorbitant number of hits, but the three he did yield all left the yard. It was the first time this season that Teheran has allowed three homers in a game, though his 3.07 HR/9 indicates a serious problem with the long ball overall. After a promising appearance against San Diego on Sept. 2, the right-hander has allowed nine earned runs over 6.2 innings across his past two starts. He'll carry an unsightly 8.90 ERA into his next start, currently slated for Sunday at home against Texas.

Impact Teheran allowed just one earned run through four innings but imploded in his final frame. After getting the first out, he allowed four consecutive batters to reach base. The Angels bullpen also didn't help Teheran's cause, as he exited with runners on first and second, both of whom were allowed to score. Overall, Teheran has a disastrous 8.23 ERA with a 17:11K:BB across 27.1 innings. He'll look to get on track in his next outing, currently projected to come Tuesday against Arizona.

Impact Teheran was demoted to the bullpen after starting the year with four poor starts, and he didn't look a whole lot better in his lone relief appearance, giving up three runs in 4.2 innings against the Astros. With a 9.17 ERA and a 7.66 FIP on the season, expectations should probably be low for the righty against a strong Padres lineup.

Impact A day after it was announced that Teheran would be moved to the bullpen, the right-hander was called upon in long relief after starter Jose Suarez failed to get out of the second inning. Ironically, Teheran's outing was not only his longest of the season in terms of innings (five) and pitches (78), it was also longer than any Angels' starter has gone in the last five games. The right-hander wasn't exactly dominant in the performance, but he did succeed in eating up innings to help spell a taxed Los Angeles bullpen. It remains to be seen how Teheran will be used the remainder of the season, but it stands to reason that he could re-enter the rotation at some point given the team's lack of starting-pitching depth.
