Notches sixth save Hader picked up the save in Monday's 4-2 win over the Reds, allowing a walk and striking out one in a scoreless ninth inning.

Impact Hader immediately brought the tying run to the plate by walking Joey Votto to start the ninth, but was able to retire the next three batters to end the game. Although the southpaw has allowed five walks, he has still yet to allow a hit or run in 8.1 innings pitched on the season.

Impact Hader came on to protect a one-run lead in the ninth inning and prevailed to earn his fifth save of the season. He did battle through a 13-pitch at-bat with Nico Hoerner, which ran Hader's pitching count to 25. Hader has maintained his dominance early, throwing 6.1 scoreless frames with 10 strikeouts.

Shaky control in fourth save Hader walked two and struck out three in 1.1 scoreless innings to record his fourth save of the season during Friday's 4-3 win over the Cubs.

Impact The southpaw needed 35 pitches to finish the job and threw less than half of them for strikes, but the end result was still another save for Hader. His 9:4 K:BB through 5.1 innings is a little worrisome considering he didn't post a walk rate north of 9.8 percent in either of the last two seasons, but Hader hasn't even allowed a hit yet in 2020, much less a run, making his early-season control issues a lot more palatable.

Impact Hader entered Monday's contest with the score tied at five and did not get a chance to pick up a save, but manager Craig Counsell decided to get him in the game both to preserve the tie and give him his first work of the season. Fellow reliever and former closer Corey Knebel is healthy but not quite back to his old self, which makes it likely Hader will be used more as a traditional closer than one sharing the ninth-inning duties with someone else. As such, expect Hader to get the ball next time the Brewers find themselves in a save situation.
