Impact Urquidy was dominant to begin the game, as he held the Rays scoreless over the first five innings Tuesday. However, a throwing error in the sixth inning helped spark a five-run rally by Tampa Bay, putting Urquidy in line for the loss. With the Astros facing a 3-0 deficit in the series, Tuesday's start could have been Urquidy's final appearance of the postseason.

Impact Urquidy was tested Wednesday, failing to make it out of the fifth inning. The 25-year-old threw 62 of his 79 pitches for strikes and recorded a first-pitch strike on 13 of the 21 batters that he faced. The right-hander had the first postseason setback of his young career, as he had never allowed more than one run in any other appearance.

Goes 4.1 strong innings in Game 2 Urquidy allowed one run on two hits and two walks while striking out three over 4.1 innings in a no-decision against the Twins on Wednesday in Game 2 of the AL Wild Card Series.
Impact Once again, manager Dusty Baker made a relatively early move to the bullpen -- Zack Greinke was pulled after allowing one run over four innings Tuesday. Once again, the move worked as the trio of Brooks Raley, Cristian Javier and Ryan Pressly combined to shut the Twins out the rest of the way. With that, Houston secured a spot in the ALDS. Urquidy figures to start Game 3 or 4 next week.

Gets Game 2 nod Urquidy is starting Game 2 on Wednesday against the Twins, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Impact The Astros will look to close out the first-round series against Minnesota on the back of the 25-year-old righty. He missed a large chunk of this season due to COVID-19 and logged a 2.73 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 17 strikeouts in 29.2 innings (five starts). Urquidy has gone at least six innings in each of his last three starts. Cristian Javier will be available to log multiple innings behind Urquidy.

Goes seven innings in no-decision Urquidy allowed two runs on seven hits and struck out five over seven innings in a no-decision versus the Rangers on Friday.
Impact Urquidy was in line for the win when he exited the contest, but Ryan Pressly couldn't protect a one-run lead in the ninth. Instead, Urquidy settled for a quality start and his third no-decision in five outings. The right-hander amassed a 2.73 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 17:8 K:BB in 29.2 innings.

Yields two runs in no-decision Urquidy allowed two runs on six hits and two walks over six innings Sunday, striking out two in the win over Arizona. He did not factor in the decision.
Impact Urquidy kept the Diamondbacks quiet before allowing a run in the fourth inning and then a solo shot to Nick Ahmed in the fifth. He left the contest facing a 2-0 deficit but, thanks mostly to George Springer's two homers, he avoided the loss. The 25-year-old will carry a 2.78 ERA into his final start of the season in Friday's road contest against the Rangers.

Strikes out seven Urquidy (1-1) allowed one earned run on three hits and no walks while striking out seven across seven innings to earn the win Tuesday against the Rangers.
Impact Urquidy's lone run allowed came in the fifth inning, when he allowed three singles in a span of four batters. Otherwise, he was in control as he needed only 90 pitches to record his 21 outs. Urquidy has looked good since making his season debut Sept. 5, as he's now allowed only three earned runs across his last two starts -- spanning 13 frames. However, this start did stand out as it was the first time he's whiffed more than two hitters in an outing.
