Will not face Oakland
Urquidy (shoulder) will not pitch in next week's series against the Athletics, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Impact

Next start remains uncertain

Impact
The 26-year-old exited Wednesday's start with posterior shoulder discomfort, and it appears the Astros aren't concerned he's dealing with any serious issue. Urquidy's next turn through the rotation tentatively lines up for Tuesday in Oakland, though manage Dusty Baker wouldn't commit to the right-hander starting during that three-game series.

Undergoes MRI
Urquidy (shoulder) underwent an MRI on Thursday, but there is no update on his status, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Impact
Urquidy was removed from Wednesday's game after 3.2 innings with posterior shoulder discomfort. Manager Dusty Baker did not have results from the MRI but did say the pitcher "felt sore" when he woke up Thursday morning. If the results of the MRI determines a stay on the injured list is necessary, it's unclear how the Astros would cover Urquidy's rotation spot.

Sent in for MRI
Astros manager Dusty Baker said Urquidy (shoulder) will undergo an MRI on Thursday, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Impact
Beyond noting that Urquidy's right shoulder was still sore a day after he was removed from his start against the Astros, Baker had no update on the 26-year-old. The MRI should provide more information about the extent of Urquidy's shoulder issue, which could necessitate a trip to the 10-day injured list.

Goes seven innings in win
Urquidy (3-2) allowed two runs on four hits and a walk over seven innings Friday, striking out two and earning a win over the Blue Jays.
Impact
Urquidy kept Toronto's bats pretty quiet Friday as the only damage against him was a pair of solo homers by Bo Bichette and Danny Jansen. After starting 0-2 with a 5.14 ERA in his first four starts, the 26-year-old has won three straight starts while allowing four runs over 20 innings. He'll carry a 3.51 ERA and 29:9 K:BB into next week's projected home start against the Angels.

Picks up pace in win
Urquidy (2-2) won his second straight start Saturday, allowing four hits and one walk over seven scoreless innings against the Rays.
Impact
Urquidy was efficient and in control, dominating the Rays and working from ahead in the count. He threw 68 strikes among his 91 pitches, and Tampa hitters swung and missed 12 times. At the behest of pitching Brent Strom, Urquidy hurried his tempo between pitches and it produced desired results, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports. "I'm trying to get a good rhythm with my body," Urquidy said. "I'm trying to not lose my focus and not lose the strike zone. To get that I have to be a little quicker with my movements." The Rays averaged an exit velocity of just 87.6 mph on 20 balls in play against Urquidy, who never threw more than 16 pitches in an inning. He's next slated to pitch at home against the Blue Jays.

Picks up first win
Urquidy (1-2) earned the win Monday after holding the Mariners to two runs on five hits and no walks while striking out a pair of batters across six innings.
Impact
All of Urquidy's damage came from a pair of solo home runs off the bats of Kyle Lewis and Kyle Seager. The right-hander showed strong command by not issuing any free passes for the second time this season while throwing 67 of his 96 pitches for strikes. The 25-year-old will carry 4.67 ERA and 1.26 WHIP into Saturday's matchup at Tampa Bay.
