Berrios (4-0) earned the win Saturday in San Diego after he struck out five and allowed five hits and two walks over six scoreless innings.
Impact
The veteran right-hander delivered his fifth straight quality start to begin the season and hasn't given up a run over his past three outings. Berrios has been one of the best pitchers in baseball early in 2024 and now has a 0.85 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 27:9 K:BB across 31.2 innings. He tentatively lines up to face the Royals on the road next week.

Earns another quality start
Berrios (2-0) picked up the win Monday, allowing four hits and a walk over 6.2 scoreless innings against the Mariners. He struck out six.
Impact
Berrios was dominant Monday for his third quality start of the season, yielding no extra-base hits as part of his first scoreless outing of 2024. He got into a little trouble in the fifth inning, allowing back-to-back singles, but consecutively retired Josh Rojas and J.P. Crawford to get out of the jam. Of pitchers with three starts this season, Berrios ranks first in ERA at 1.45. His next appearance is set to come Sunday against the Rockies.

Picks up win on Opening Day
Berrios (1-0) went 6.0 innings and allowed two runs on six hits and one walk during Thursday's win over the Rays. He struck out six.
Impact
After kicking off 2023 with two straight losses, Berrios wasted no time getting in the win column to start the 2024 campaign, going six strong against Tampa Bay. Berrios was tagged for a solo homer by Yandy Diaz on just his fifth pitch of the game. However, he limited Rays' hitters two through five to a combined 0-for-11 with a walk. Berrios's next start is tentatively scheduled to come against the Astros.

Strong spring continues
Berrios allowed one run on three hits and a walk over 3.1 innings in Tuesday's Grapefruit League game against the Yankees. He struck out three.
Impact
Facing a lineup mostly made up of bench players and prospects, Berrios cruised through 63 pitches (39 strikes) without much difficulty. Tuesday's run was the first the 29-year-old right-hander had given up this spring, and through 8.1 innings he's posted a solid 7:2 K:BB. Berrios has won double-digit games in six straight full seasons and posted a sub-4.00 ERA in five of them, and the Blue Jays are counting on him to provide similar reliability in 2024.

Confirmed starter for Game 2
Berrios will start Game 2 of the American League Wild Card Series on Wednesday against the Twins, Blake Murphy of Sportsnet reports.
Impact
The Blue Jays confirmed earlier in the day that Kevin Gausman will take the ball for Game 1, and it'll be Berrios who gets a shot in the second game of the series. The right-hander gave up four runs in each of his last two starts of the regular season, so he'll look for a better result in Wednesday's outing.

Strikes out 10 in loss
Berrios (11-12) took the loss Wednesday, allowing four runs on five hits and three walks over six innings against the Yankees. He struck out 10.
Impact
While Berrios ended his campaign with a season-high 10 strikeouts, he'd give up two runs on an Aaron Judge homer in the fourth inning before surrendering two more runs in the fifth, as the Yankees handed him a second straight loss. Berrios has allowed four runs in consecutive starts against New York after holding opponents to two runs or fewer in each of his previous three outings. The 29-year-old right-hander will finish the year with a 3.65 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 184 strikeouts across 32 starts (189.2 innings).

Falls to Yankees
Berrios (11-11) took the loss Thursday, allowing four runs on seven hits over 5.2 innings against the Yankees. He struck out six.
Impact
Most of the damage against Berrios came in the first inning on Jake Bauers' three-run homer. While Berrios would settle down and hold the Yankees off the board until the sixth, he'd still ultimately wind up with his first loss in his last four outings. The 29-year-old Berrios had been pitching well coming into Thursday's appearance, with a 1.80 ERA with 22 strikeouts in his previous three starts (20 innings). He'll look to end a solid regular season on a high note in his next outing, currently scheduled as a home rematch with the Yankees next week.

K's eight in seven scoreless
Berrios (11-10) earned the win Friday, allowing five hits and zero walks over seven scoreless innings in a 3-0 win over Boston. He struck out eight.
Impact
This is the fourth time in 30 starts that Berrios has gone at least seven innings without allowing a run. After a rough August that saw him go 1-3 with a 5.53 ERA, Berrios has three consecutive quality starts in September with a 1.80 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 22 strikeouts over 20 innings. He'll look to continue this momentum and remain a key cog in the Blue Jays' playoff push in his next start, tentatively scheduled to take place in New York during a mid-week showdown against the Yankees.

Comes away with win Sunday
Berrios (10-10 got the win Sunday over the Royals, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out seven over seven innings.
Impact
Berrios kept the Royals off the board through five frames but surrendered two extra base hits and a walk in the sixth which led to two runs. He had given up six home runs across his last three starts but was able to keep the ball in the park Sunday and picked up his first win since Aug. 5 while reaching seven innings for the first time since July 6. The 29-year-old has had an up and down season, but still sits at a respectable 3.63 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 160:49 K:BB in 171 innings and lines up for a start against the Red Sox his next time out.

Goes six innings in no-decision
Berrios did not factor into the decision Monday, allowing two runs on four hits and a walk over six innings in a 6-5 win over the Athletics. He struck out seven.
Impact
Berrios blanked Oakland through his first four innings before giving up solo homers in the fifth and sixth. Still, it was an encouraging outing for the 29-year-old Berrios, who'd given up 10 runs over his previous two starts (12 innings). Overall, he's 9-10 with a 3.68 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 153:47 K:BB across 28 starts (164 innings) this season. Berrios is currently scheduled for a home matchup with the Royals in his next outing.

Hit hard in loss
Berrios (9-10) took the loss Tuesday as the Blue Jays fell 5-4 to the Nationals, giving up five runs on six hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out two.
Impact
The right-hander essentially made only two mistakes, but they resulted in a two-run homer by Carter Kieboom in the second inning and a three-run blast by Keibert Ruiz in the fifth. Berrios has served up multiple homers in three of his last four starts, a worrying trend as Toronto tries to claw its way back into the playoff picture, and he stumbles into the final month of the season having posted a 5.53 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 23:6 K:BB through 27.2 innings in August. Berrios will look to get back on track in his next outing, likely to come early next week in Oakland.
