Settles for no-decision Berrios did not factor in the decision during Sunday's loss to Detroit. He yielded two runs on eight hits and a walk over six innings while striking out four.
Impact Berrios wasn't at his sharpest and had to work out of a few jams during his quality start. He coughed up a two-run double to Spencer Torkelson in the first inning before delivering five scoreless frames. Berrios has turned in five quality starts this season and four over his last six appearances. During that six-start stretch, he's produced a 3.57 ERA, dropping his season number to 4.19 across 58 innings. Berrios is projected to start in Tampa Bay next weekend.

Settles for another no-decision Berrios allowed five runs on five hits and three walks while striking out four in 5.1 innings Tuesday against the Rays. He did not factor into the decision.
Impact Berrios was tagged for four runs in the third, which included a two-run homer by Jonathan Aranda. He retired the side in order in the second, fourth and fifth innings and appeared to be on his way towards another quality start, but a leadoff single and then a one-out walk in the sixth ended his day. Tuesday was the first time Berrios has allowed at least five runs since his season debut, and it was his fifth outing with at least three walks. Berrios hasn't had a BB/9 over 2.5 since the shortened 2020 COVID season but this year his BB/9 is at 4.2. He's in line for a tough test this weekend when the red-hot Tigers come to town.

Fans nine in no-decision Berrios allowed two runs on five hits and five walks while striking out nine batters over six-plus innings in a no-decision against the Angels on Wednesday.
Impact Berrios was a bit wild with a season-high five walks (though one was intentional) and a hit batsman, yet he also racked up 18 whiffs and a season-best nine punchouts. The veteran righty began the game with five scoreless frames, but he faltered late, allowing two of the final four batters he faced to hit a solo homer. Nonetheless, this was another strong start by Berrios, who picked up his second straight quality start and fourth such outing this season. Since giving up six runs against Baltimore in his season debut March 27, Berrios has been much better, posting a 3.02 ERA and 40:19 K:BB over 41.2 frames.

Throws 6.2 strong innings Thursday Berrios didn't factor into the decision Thursday against the Red Sox after allowing two runs on seven hits and one walk in 6.2 innings. He struck out eight.
Impact Berrios presented strong swing-and-miss stuff, generating 13 whiffs and tying a season high with eight punchouts, and he also matched a season low with one walk. The right-hander created a bases-loaded jam in the fifth inning, but he was at least able to limit the damage to a two-run double by Alex Bregman before escaping the frame. Berrios owns a pedestrian 3.98 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 36:16 K:BB over 40.2 innings ahead of a scheduled road tilt against the Angels, who rank fifth in home runs (41) but sit last in on-base percentage (.271) as a team.

Yields no runs in no-decision Berrios did not factor into the decision in Friday's 4-2 win over the Yankees, allowing five hits and two walks while striking out four in 5.1 scoreless innings.
Impact Berrios retired the side in the first two innings, and while he allowed two baserunners in each of the next three frames, he was able to escape without giving up a run. He generated only five whiffs while tossing 89 pitches (55 strikes) and was two outs shy from registering his third quality start of the season. Berrios has a 4.24 ERA and 1.41 WHIP over 34.0 innings, but his 15 walks issued is tied for second-most in the American League behind Carlos Rodon (18). Berrios is in line to start against the Red Sox at home next week, and the last time he faced Boston on April 7 he allowed just one run in seven innings.
