Charged with second straight loss
Cueto (4-3) allowed five runs (four earned) on nine hits and three walks while striking out two in 5.1 innings to take the loss against the Nationals on Sunday.
Impact
Cueto has now given up at least four runs in three of his last four starts, and the Nationals offense got hot early Sunday to put the right-hander in line for the loss. Across his first 10 starts of the season, the 35-year-old has posted a 4.00 ERA and 1.35 WHIP in 54 innings. He tentatively lines up to make his next start at home against the Phillies on Friday.

Struggles in loss Sunday
Cueto (4-2) allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits and two walks on four strikeouts across 4.1 innings, taking the loss against the Cubs on Sunday.
Impact
Cueto surrendered a pair of long balls to Patrick Wisdom in the second and fourth innings. All three of his earned runs came off Wisdom's bat. The 35-year-old has previously done a great job limiting home runs, with just two through his first eight starts. He has a 3.70 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP with 40 strikeouts in 48.2 innings. His next start is scheduled for Saturday against the Nationals.

Dominant in victory
Cueto (4-1) allowed one run on five hits over seven innings Monday, striking out five and earning a win over the Angels.
Impact
After allowing an RBI groundout in the second inning, Cueto settled in and rolled through the next five innings without much resistance from the Angels' offense. It was his second-longest outing of the season and he lowered his ERA to 3.45 through 44.1 frames. He's allowed two or fewer runs in three of his last four starts. Cueto is projected to take the mound at home again this weekend against the Cubs.

Struggles but gets off hook
Cueto pitched five innings against Arizona on Wednesday, allowing four runs on eight hits and no walks while striking out five. He did not factor in the decision.
Impact
The right-hander did not have his best stuff in the contest, as he tied his season high by allowing eight hits while yielding four runs. He left the game with San Francisco in a four-run hole but was spared a loss when the offense scored five runs over the final four innings. Cueto has been decent but unspectacular this season, registering a 3.86 ERA and 31:6 K:BB across 37.1 innings. His next start is likely to come against the Angels early next week.

Cruises to third win
Cueto (3-1) allowed one earned run on five hits and one walk while striking out four across five innings to earn the win Thursday against the Reds.
Impact
Cueto got 13 runs of support prior to exiting the game after completing five innings. In three starts since returning from a lat injury May 9, Cueto has progressively ramped up his pitch count and managed 89 pitches Thursday. The outing was also a step forward from a results perspective, as he had surrendered seven earned runs in 7.1 innings across his last two outings. Cueto currently lines up to take the mound Wednesday at Arizona.
