Ready for next start Ginn (calf) has been cleared to start Thursday's game against the Red Sox in Boston, MLB.com reports.
Impact During his most recent start in Friday's 3-0 win over the Reds, Ginn struck out six batters and allowed no runs on two hits and four walks before being pulled with one out in the fifth inning after experiencing right calf cramping. The right-hander has apparently responded well to treatment over the last two days and won't have to miss a turn through the rotation. Since being reinstated from the injured list June 16, Ginn has gone 2-4 with a 4.43 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 70:21 K:BB in 63 innings over 17 appearances (10 starts).

Departs due to injury Ginn was removed from his start Friday against the Reds with an apparent lower-body injury, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
Impact Ginn made it through 4.1 shutout innings before seemingly tweaking something in his lower half and limping off the mound. He'll get checked out by the Athletics' training staff, and the team should provide more information on his status in the near future.

Gets back in win column Ginn (3-6) allowed one run on five hits and struck out five without walking a batter over five innings to earn the win over the Angels on Saturday.
Impact Over six outings in August, Ginn went 0-4 with a 7.24 ERA and 34:13 K:BB across 27.1 innings. His first start of September was much better, and the Athletics gave him more than enough support in a 17-4 win. Ginn has had an uneven year with a 4.95 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 86:23 K:BB across 76.1 innings through 20 appearances (13 starts). The right-hander is projected to make his next start at home versus the Reds.

Hit hard by Rangers Ginn (2-6) took the loss Sunday against Texas, allowing five runs on five hits and two walks with seven strikeouts over six innings.
Impact Ginn surrendered a pair of home runs during the start, yielding a two-run home run in the first inning to Joc Pederson and a solo shot to Josh Jung in the second. Ginn has now allowed seven home runs in his last six starts. He's 0-5 with a 7.52 ERA and a 33:12 K:BB across 26.1 innings during that stretch. He's on track to face the Angels next time out.

Strikes out eight versus Tigers Ginn allowed three runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out eight over 5.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Tigers on Monday.
Impact Ginn matched zeroes with Tarik Skubal through five innings, but the Tigers struck first with three runs in the sixth. The Athletics were able to bounce back, getting Ginn off the hook after a fine but unremarkable performance. He's had mixed results since returning to the rotation in late July, allowing 19 runs (18 earned) over 32.1 innings with a 33:12 K:BB across his last seven outings. Overall, he has a 4.96 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 74:21 K:BB through 65.1 innings over 18 appearances (11 starts) this season. Injuries are piling up among the Athletics' starters, so Ginn can be penciled in for a home start versus the Rangers this weekend.

Punches out five in no-decision Ginn took a no-decision Wednesday against Minnesota, allowing two runs on seven hits and two walks in 4.2 innings. He struck out five.
Impact Wednesday's performance was an improvement from Ginn, who yielded a season-high five earned runs his last time out against the Rays. Even so, the seven hits allowed were a season worst, and the right-hander has worked at least five innings just four times among his 10 starts in 2025. Ginn has an uninspiring 4.95 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 66:20 K:BB over 60 frames, and his streaming appeal should remain limited versus the first-place Tigers next week.

Lit up in loss Ginn (2-5) took the loss against Tampa Bay on Wednesday, allowing six runs (five earned) on six hits and one walk while striking out three batters over two innings.
Impact Ginn was ambushed early Wednesday, giving up four runs on four hits in the first inning alone. The lefty surrendered another pair of runs on a Brandon Lowe blast in the second and didn't take the mound in the third frame. The six runs allowed were a season high for Ginn, while the six hits he gave up tied a season-worst mark. Since moving back into the Athletics' rotation July 22, Ginn has struggled to a 5.24 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 20:9 K:BB over 22.1 innings spanning five starts. He's lined up to face Minnesota on the road in his next start.
