Recalled Saturday Mattson was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday.

Impact Mattson spent just over a month with the Triple-A club, and he's allowed five runs (four earned) on six hits and three walks while striking out five in three innings since his demotion. He's made two relief appearances in the majors during low-leverage situations this year, and he'll play a similar role after right-hander Conner Greene was designated for assignment.

Impact The right-hander was promoted Wednesday and will return to Norfolk after delivering 1.1 scoreless frames in his lone appearance. Mattson has struggled through 11 outings at Triple-A this season with eight runs allowed on 16 hits.

Impact Mattson made his major-league debut in the ninth inning of Friday's loss to the Red Sox and allowed one run on a hit and a walk in two-thirds of an inning. He'll now head back to Triple-A to make room for left-hander Zac Lowther, who will be called up ahead of his scheduled start Saturday.

Impact Mattson hasn't pitched in an official minor-league contest since the 2019 campaign when he spent most of his time at Double-A Mobile. He cruised to a 2.68 ERA and 1.00 WHIP with a 61:13 K:BB over 43.2 frames while with the Bears.
