Impact Gaddis allowed the tying run in the top of the eighth inning, but the Guardians responded with a three-run home run by Jose Ramirez. Gaddis was charged with a blown save, his first since April 30 and his fifth of the year, but he was also able to pick up his second win in a week. The right-hander has been an excellent setup man in his first full major-league campaign, posting a 1.59 ERA, 0.77 WHIP and 65:14 K:BB across 73.2 innings while adding 34 holds.

Impact This was the first time Gaddis has given up multiple runs since July 29, and it's just the fifth time it's happened all year. The right-hander was bailed out by the Guardians' rally in the bottom of the 10th inning this time around, earning his first win since July 24. Gaddis has a 1.55 ERA, 0.76 WHIP and 64:14 K:BB with 34 holds and four blown saves over 69.2 innings in a setup role this year.

Impact Gaddis allowed a solo home run to Bobby Witt in the eighth inning, which put the Royals ahead 4-3. This was the third time Gaddis has been scored upon in August, and the last two instances have been solo homers. While he's been a little shaky lately, the right-hander still has an impressive 1.65 ERA, 0.77 WHIP and 55:12 K:BB while racking up 28 holds over 60 innings this season.

Impact Gaddis struck out the side on 12 pitches in the eighth inning, and he became the pitcher of record when Josh Naylor put the Guardians ahead with an RBI single in their half of the frame. During his 18.2-inning scoreless streak, Gaddis has allowed seven hits and three walks while striking out 21 and adding nine holds. The setup man has a 1.13 ERA, 0.73 WHIP and 47:8 K:BB through 48 innings this season as a standout performer in baseball's best bullpen.

Earns 20th hold Gaddis allowed a hit in a scoreless inning to earn a hold in Friday's 7-0 win over the Padres.
Impact Gaddis pitched in the eighth inning and protected a one-run lead before the Guardians' offense erupted. This was Gaddis' 20th hold of the season, and he's earned eight of them during a 17-inning scoreless streak dating back to June 7. The right-hander has been a pleasant surprise in his first full year in the bullpen, pitching to a 1.17 ERA, 0.73 WHIP and 44:7 K:BB while adding a 3-2 record in a setup role.
JULY 20, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Picks up third win Gaddis (3-1) allowed a hit and struck out three without walking a batter over 1.1 innings to earn the win over the Mets on Wednesday.
Impact Gaddis was the beneficiary of the Guardians' comeback push Wednesday, picking up his second win in five outings. The right-hander hasn't allowed a run over 9.1 innings in May while adding a 7:1 K:BB, two wins and four holds for the month. He's thriving in a high-leverage role in his first year as a full-time reliever, posting a 1.85 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 24:4 K:BB with 11 holds and three blown saves over 24.1 innings this season.

Quickly ascending leverage ladder Gaddis walked one and struck out two in a scoreless and hitless inning to earn his fifth hold of the season Saturday versus the Athletics.
Impact Gaddis had struggled primarily as a starter over parts of the last two seasons, but he's thriving as a reliever so far. He's got a 15:3 K:BB while allowing just four hits and no runs over 10.2 innings to begin the campaign. Gaddis was expected to be more of a middle reliever initially, but he's looking more like a setup man after his hot start, which is especially impressive considering how strong the Guardians' bullpen has been. Gaddis has also been able to unlock more velocity in shorter outings -- per Statcast, his fastball is averaging 96.3 mph this year after sitting at 93.4 mph over the previous two years. He's also tightened his pitch arsenal, dropping his curveball and cutter while using his slider and changeup as his offspeed offerings.

Impact Gaddis was recalled ahead of his start Thursday. He pitched three scoreless innings versus the Orioles, but was taken out after taking a hit off of his leg. With Shane Bieber (elbow) returning from the 60-day injured list, the 25-year-old was optioned back down.

Goes three innings in start Gaddis allowed a hit and two walks while striking out one over three scoreless innings in a no-decision versus the Orioles on Thursday.
Impact Gaddis ended up covering the most innings of any Cleveland pitcher, but it was more of an opening assignment. He made just two appearances with Triple-A Columbus while he was with the affiliate for three weeks, allowing two runs over 7.2 innings. In the majors, he has a pedestrian 4.50 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 24:14 K:BB across 42 innings over 11 appearances (seven starts). With Shane Bieber (elbow) and Triston McKenzie (elbow) returning and the Guardians having two off days next week, Gaddis will probably not be needed to start again in 2023.

Recalled for start Thursday Gaddis was recalled from Triple-A Columbus ahead of his start Thursday versus the Orioles.
Impact Gaddis has struggled to a 6.14 ERA in 73.1 innings this season at the Triple-A level and owns an ugly 6.99 ERA and 28:15 K:BB in 46.1 career major-league frames. The 25-year-old right-hander is not a recommended fantasy streamer against Baltimore.
SEPTEMBER 21, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Getting start for Guardians Gaddis will be recalled from Triple-A Columbus to start for the Guardians on Thursday against the Orioles, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
Impact It had been Tanner Bibee's turn, but he's done for the season with a hip injury. Gaddis has put up a 4.85 ERA over 10 appearances (six starts) with Cleveland this season. He might receive just the one start, as Triston McKenzie (elbow) appears poised to return next week.

Impact Gaddis picked up a win in a three-inning relief outing in his last appearance but now finds himself back in the minors following the Guardians' waiver claim bonanza. He's posted a 4.85 ERA over 10 appearances (six starts) for Cleveland this season.

Earns win after call-up Gaddis (2-1) allowed a run on four hits and a walk while striking out two over three innings to earn the win Tuesday over the Twins.
Impact Gaddis was called up to take Daniel Norris' spot on the 26-man roster earlier in the day. Gaddis had previously served as the 27th man during last Thursday's doubleheader, making him eligible for a call-up. He's now at a 4.85 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 23:12 K:BB through 39 innings over 10 outings (six starts) in the majors this year. Gavin Williams (knee) exited Tuesday's start after one inning, and Gaddis would be among a handful of options to fill a vacancy in the rotation if Williams misses additional time, though Cal Quantrill (shoulder) is expected to be back from the injured list Friday.
AUGUST 30, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Returns to Triple-A The Guardians optioned Gaddis to Triple-A Columbus on Friday.
Impact Gaddis was sent back to the minors one day after being called up to serve as the 27th man for the Guardians' doubleheader with the Dodgers. The 25-year-old worked 4.2 innings out of the bullpen in Thursday's 9-3 loss, giving up two earned runs on seven hits and two walks while failing to record a strikeout.
AUGUST 26, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Brought up as 27th man The Guardians added Gaddis from Triple-A Columbus to serve as their 27th man Thursday, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.
Impact Because Wednesday's game with the Dodgers ended up spilling into Thursday due to rain, the Guardians will be allowed to use Gaddis as an extra man in their bullpen. The 25-year-old righty has put up a 5.17 ERA and 1.21 WHIP through 31.1 frames in the majors this season, and he will likely return to Columbus immediately after Thursday's contest.
AUGUST 24, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Sent back to Triple-A The Guardians optioned Gaddis to Triple-A Columbus on Saturday.
Impact Gaddis was called up from Columbus and was designated as the Guardians' 27th man for Friday's doubleheader with the Tigers, but he didn't appear in either contest before being returned to the minors a day later. He went on to appear out of the bullpen for Columbus on Sunday, giving up one run over two innings in a 9-2 loss to Syracuse.
AUGUST 23, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Sent to minors The Guardians optioned Gaddis to Triple-A Columbus on Saturday, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.
Impact Gaddis has been very inconsistent in the majors this season -- he has three scoreless multi-inning appearances alongside four starts in which he allowed three runs or more. If he's able to right the ship in Triple-A, there's a chance he returns to Cleveland's bullpen later this season. For now, Michael Kelly will take Gaddis' spot after being selected from Columbus on Saturday.
