José Urquidy - Rehab outing coming Wednesday Astros general manager James Click said Urquidy (shoulder) is scheduled to make a rehab start for Double-A Corpus Christi on Wednesday, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle repor...
Impact Depending on how Urquidy fares Wednesday, Click said the rehab start may be the only one the right-hander will require before returning from the 10-day injured list. With both Urquidy and Jake Odorizzi (forearm) nearing the end of their respective recoveries from injuries, the Astros will soon face some tough decisions for their rotation. Assuming Houston elects to stick with a five-man rotation when all of their key starters are healthy, one of Urquidy, Odorizzi, Cristian Javier or Luis Garcia will likely move to the bullpen or head to Triple-A Sugar Land.

Alex Speas - Shut down with sore elbow Double-A Frisco placed Speas on its 7-day injured list Sunday due to a sore right elbow, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Impact Speas is scheduled to undergo further evaluation before the Rangers provide a timeline for his return to action, but the initial diagnosis of a sore elbow is concerning for a pitcher who required Tommy John surgery in June 2018. The 2016 second-round pick has been regularly hitting the triple digits with his fastball thus far in the Double-A season, but control has been an issue (11 walks in 6.1 innings).

Charlie Culberson - Moves into reserve role Culberson is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros.
Impact Culberson has served as the Rangers' primary third baseman for most of May, but he'll move into a short-side platoon role after Brock Holt was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Friday. After a solid start to the season, Culberson's production at the plate has tailed off of late. The 32-year-old has fallen into a 1-for-23 slump at the dish in his past eight games.

Jose Trevino - Retreats to bench Trevino is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros.
Impact Trevino will get a breather for Sunday's matinee game after he caught both of the Rangers' last two games. Jonah Heim will form a battery with starting pitcher Mike Foltynewicz in the series finale.
