Emerson Hancock - Back in action at High-A Hancock (shoulder) rejoined the High-A Everett rotation Wednesday, tossing 1.1 scoreless innings in a 2-0 loss to Eugene. He gave up one hit and issued one walk while striking out...
Impact Making his first appearance for Everett since June 25 after having been shut down with a sore right shoulder, Hancock was eased back into action with a light workload. Hancock should ramp up his pitch count a bit in his subsequent starts, but the Mariners aren't likely to allow the 22-year-old to work deep into games the rest of the season, given his long-term importance to the organization.

Ryan Weber - Sent down Thursday Weber was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday.
Impact Weber was called up by the Mariners on Sunday, and he allowed two runs on a hit and two walks while striking out one in three innings across two relief appearances with the major-league club. He'll now return to Triple-A Tacoma to make room for left-hander Tyler Anderson, who was acquired from the Pirates via trade Wednesday.

Yusei Kikuchi - Takes loss against Houston Kikuchi (6-6) was tagged with the loss Wednesday against the Astros after allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits and two walks across five innings, striking out seven.
Impact Kikuchi didn't have his best stuff and delivered another subpar outing, as he has now allowed at least three earned runs in each of his last four contests. Even though he has fanned at least seven in three straight contests, the left-hander also owns an inflated 7.71 ERA during that aforementioned four-game stretch.

Abraham Toro - Homers for fourth straight game Toro went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer, a walk and a steal in Wednesday's loss to Houston.
Impact He's now gone yard in four straight games -- the first two as an Astro, and the last two now against the Astros. Toro drew the start at second base in this one, and it seems the Mariners will use him there pretty often to get his bat in the lineup. Toro's still hitting a modest .219/.297/.439 on the year, but a .198 BABIP has depressed his batting average and he has an excellent track record in the high minors (.392/.497/.600 in 33 career Triple-A games and .306/.393/.513 in his last Double-A season).
