Ljay Newsome - On mend from Tommy John surgery Newsome (elbow) underwent Tommy John surgery earlier this summer, MLB.com reports.
Impact Scott Hanson of The Seattle Times relayed back in May that Tommy John surgery was a possibility for the right-hander after he was initially placed on the IL with elbow inflammation, and the 24-year-old appears to have in fact had the procedure at some point over the past few months. Newsome's rehab from surgery will likely extend through the 2022 season, though he should be at or near full strength for the start of spring training in 2023.

Nick Margevicius - Recovering from surgery Margevicius (shoulder) underwent thoracic outlet syndrome surgery earlier this summer, MLB.com reports.
Impact The report confirms that Margevicius won't pitch again this season, which was fully expected after he was diagnosed with the shoulder condition in May. He'll turn his focus toward getting healthy for the start of spring training in 2022, though Margevicius could still head into next season with some restrictions.
