JUNE 19 Data Skrive
Astros vs. Athletics Prediction, Odds, Picks - June 19
Cristian Javier - Facing hitters Friday Javier (elbow) will throw live batting practice Friday, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.
Impact Javier has been limited to throwing bullpens for the past month, most recently throwing 20 pitches during his mound session Monday, but he will finally get a chance to face live hitters Friday. The 28-year-old righty still isn't expected back for another couple of months after undergoing Tommy John surgery last June, though it's a significant step in the right direction. Once he gets a few rounds of live BP under his belt, the Astros will likely begin thinking about sending him out on a rehab assignment.

JUNE 19 ROTOWIRE
Brady Basso - Rehab stint stalls Basso (shoulder) was pulled off his rehab assignment at Triple-A Las Vegas on Wednesday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
Impact A left shoulder strain has kept Basso on the injured list all season, though he seemed close to a return after making three rehab appearances in the minors. However, a setback in his recovery puts him at risk of spending even more time on the IL. He's set to be re-evaluated within the next several days, at which point a new timeline for his return may be established.

Brady Basso - Set for re-evaluation Basso (shoulder) was pulled off his rehab assignment at Triple-A Las Vegas on Wednesday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
Impact A left shoulder strain has kept Basso on the injured list all season, and he could be in for an even longer stay thanks to his latest setback. He's slated to be re-evaluated within the next several days, at which point a new return timetable may be established.
JUNE 19 ROTOWIRE
Ken Waldichuk - Beginning assignment Sunday Waldichuk (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment at Single-A Stockton on Sunday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
Impact Waldichuk has been throwing against live hitters since the end of May, and he's now been given the green light to return to competitive action. The 27-year-old hasn't pitched in a game at any level since 2023 and underwent Tommy John surgery in May 2024, so he will likely require a relatively long rehab assignment before he makes his season debut for the A's.
