INJURIES

Activated ahead of Friday's start The Marlins activated Cabrera (blister) from the 15-day injured list Friday.
Impact Cabrera is set to make his season debut Friday against the Nationals after recovering from a blister on his right middle finger. The right-hander threw only 53 pitches during his second rehab start with Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday, so he will be working with a relatively limited pitch count Friday.

Rejoining rotation Friday Cabrera (blister) will make his season debut Friday against the Nationals, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports.
Impact Cabrera threw 53 pitches in his second rehab start with Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday, so he's not going to be ready for a full workload Friday. The right-hander is coming back from a blister on his right middle finger.

Could return over weekend Cabrera (finger) has joined the team in New York following a rehab start Sunday at Triple-A Jacksonville, Fish on First reports.
Impact Cabrera's activation from the 15-day injured list isn't imminent at this point, though the fact that he's joined Miami on the current road trip is likely a sign he's close to returning. The club will monitor the right-hander closely over the next few days to determine if he's in need of another rehab start.
APRIL 7 • ROTOWIRE
Strikes out six in rehab start Cabrera (finger) covered four innings and gave up two runs (one earned) on six hits and no walks while striking out six in his rehab start Sunday with Triple-A Jacksonville.
Impact Cabrera built up to 53 pitches in his second rehab outing with Jacksonville. Though Cabrera has long been plagued by control problems, he hasn't issued a walk in either of his rehab starts, which have covered seven innings. Cabrera is eligible to come off the 15-day injured list this week, but the Marlins may want to see him get stretched out a little bit more in one final rehab outing before adding him back to the big-league rotation.

Works three frames in rehab start Cabrera (finger) struck out four batters and allowed one earned run on three hits and no walks across three innings Tuesday in a rehab start with Triple-A Jacksonville.
Impact Cabrera served up a solo home run in the second inning but was otherwise sharp over his three frames while spotting 27 of his 46 pitches for strikes. He'll likely get stretched out over one or two more rehab starts before returning from the 15-day injured list around mid-April.

Ready for rehab assignment Cabrera (finger) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Jacksonville on Tuesday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Impact Cabrera developed a blister on his right middle finger during a March 13 Grapefruit League start that resulted in him opening the season on the injured list, but he doesn't look as though he'll be in store for an extended stay on the shelf. After coming out of a three-inning simulated game last Wednesday no worse for the wear, Cabrera is now ready to test himself in an uncontrolled environment. He'll be eligible to return from the IL on April 7, but the Marlins may want him to complete one more rehab start beyond Tuesday's before clearing him for his 2025 debut with the big club.

Officially goes on IL The Marlins placed Cabrera on the 15-day injured list Thursday with a right middle finger blister.
Impact Cabrera threw a simulated game Wednesday and hopes to be ready to rejoin the rotation by mid-April. Connor Gillispie and Valente Bellozo will fill rotation spots while Cabrera and Ryan Weathers (forearm) are out.
MARCH 27 • ROTOWIRE
Set for sim game Wednesday Cabrera (blister) will throw a bullpen session Monday ahead of a simulated game Wednesday, Justin Morris of MLB.com reports.
Impact The right-hander last pitched in a Grapefruit League game March 13 before being shut down due to a blister on the middle finger of his pitching hand. Cabrera is aiming for a mid-April return to the rotation, and he likely won't need too many outings to build back up for the regular season -- he threw 51 pitches, albeit only 24 of them for strikes, on March 7 in the spring start prior to developing the blister.
MARCH 24 • ROTOWIRE
Bullpen session on tap Cabrera (finger) will throw a bullpen session Monday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Impact Cabrera is already slated to begin the season on the injured list, but the fact he's trending toward mound work before Opening Day is good news considering his throwing session Monday reportedly didn't go well. If he gets through his bullpen session with no issues, the plan is for Cabrera to pitch in a sim game Wednesday, at which point a return timeline may be established.

IL-bound with blister issue Cabrera will begin the season on the 15-day injured list with a blister on his right middle finger, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Impact Cabrera had to exit his last Grapefruit League outing with the issue. He played catch Monday, but evidently it must not have gone as well as hoped. Connor Gillispie has tossed eight scoreless innings this spring without allowing a hit and looks to be first in line to fill the rotation vacancy created by Cabrera's absence.
MARCH 18 • ROTOWIRE
Playing catch Monday Marlins manager Clayton McCullough said Cabrera (blister) will play catch Monday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Impact It will be the first time Cabrera has thrown since he had to be removed from his Grapefruit League start last Thursday with a blister on his right middle finger. Cabrera might have to skip his next spring training start, which would threaten his Opening Day availability.
MARCH 17 • ROTOWIRE
Could have next start skipped Marlins manager Clayton McCullough said Friday that Cabrera's (blister) next scheduled Grapefruit League start could be skipped, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Impact Cabrera had to be lifted from Thursday's Grapefruit League start against the Astros after just 12 pitches with a blister on his right middle finger. The Marlins will determine a course of action with Cabrera later Friday, but there's a distinct possibility he won't be ready for the start of the season. The righty has been pummeled for 13 runs on 11 hits and four walks over 4.2 innings this spring.
