Can't capitalize on run support
Bundy did not factor in the decision against the Yankees on Thursday, pitching four innings and giving up four runs on five hits and one walk while striking out one.
Impact
The Twins gave Bundy seven runs through three innings, but the veteran hurler wasn't able to contain New York's offense. He surrendered a run in the first inning, two in the second and another in fifth before he was lifted for a reliever. Three of the runs he allowed came as a result of a pair of homers by Joey Gallo, who entered the game batting .186 on the campaign. After posting a 0.59 ERA through his first three starts this season, Bundy has since given up 29 earned runs across 30.2 innings, pushing his ERA up to 5.87 on the campaign.

Chased by Blue Jays
Bundy (3-3) gave up six runs (five earned) on eight hits and one walk in 2.1 innings Saturday against the Blue Jays. He struck out two and took the loss.
Impact
Bundy gave up two home runs in this one and has now given up at least four earned runs in four of his last six starts and at least five earned runs in three of his last six. He actually threw all of his pitches significantly harder (2.1 mph harder on the fourseam) than he had averaged on the season, but that increased velocity didn't unlock another level for Bundy. If the Twins stay on a five-man rotation, Bundy would line up to pitch next weekend against the Rays.

Tagged with four runs
Bundy yielded four runs on nine hits across six innings in Monday's loss to Detroit. He struck out three and did not factor in the decision.
Impact
Bundy served up a solo homer to Derek Hill in the third inning. He then allowed a pair of runs in the fourth followed by another in the fifth. The 6-foot-1 righty has now given up four or more runs in three of his last five outings, posting a brutal 7.40 ERA during that stretch. On the year, Bundy owns a 4.76 ERA with a 34:8 K:BB through eight starts. He's projected to take the mound in Toronto this weekend.

Punches out six
Bundy allowed one earned run on five hits and one walk while striking out six across 5.2 innings Wednesday against the Tigers. He did not factor into the decision.
Impact
Bundy kept the Tigers lineup in check, with the only damage coming on a solo home run by Harold Castro. He racked up 14 swinging strikes on 85 total pitches and struck out at least six batters for the third time in seven starts this season. Since returning from the COVID-19-related injured list, Bundy has allowed only one earned run across 8.2 innings. Overall, he has a 4.54 ERA and 31:8 K:BB across 33.2 frames.

Three scoreless innings in return
Bundy struck out three, walked two and allowed two hits in three shutout innings in a 5-2 loss Tuesday in Oakland. He did not factor into the decision.
Impact
Bundy was effective but inefficient in his first outing in nearly two weeks, needing 54 pitches to complete the three frames. It was expected that he would have a limited pitch count in his first appearance following a stint on the COVID-19 injured list. While his 5.14 ERA leaves something to be desired, his 25:7 K:BB is solid and he's allowed one run or fewer in four of six starts. His next start will likely be early next week against Detroit.

Making return Tuesday
The Twins reinstated Bundy (illness) from the COVID-19-related injured list ahead of his scheduled start Tuesday against the Athletics in Oakland.
Impact
Following Monday's 3-1 win in the series opener, the Twins opened up room for Bundy on the 40-man roster and 26-man active roster by designating reliever Jharel Cotton for assignment. Bundy was deactivated for just under two weeks after testing positive for the virus May 5, and because he didn't have sufficient time to get his conditioning back in order, the right-hander is expected to be on a limited pitch count Tuesday. He should be in store for a more normal start in his subsequent turn through the rotation, which will likely fall next week against the Tigers in Minnesota.

Ready to return Tuesday
Bundy (illness) is scheduled to start Tuesday's game against Oakland, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Impact
Bundy has been on the COVID-19 injured list since testing positive May 5, but he'll be back in action Tuesday night. Manager Rocco Baldelli noted Monday that Bundy would be on a pitch count upon his return, though he neglected to disclose how long he'd let Bundy work.

Impact
Bundy was able to clear MLB's COVID-19 protocols last week, but the right-hander is still working to regain conditioning after dealing with the effects of the virus. As the rotation currently lines up, Bundy could return Friday at Kansas City, but Minnesota's plans aren't completely clear.
