Shifts to 60-day IL Peters (back) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Thursday, Mike Persak of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Impact Peters was already ruled out for the season after landing on the 10-day IL late last week, and the move to the 60-day IL is just a procedural move to free up a spot on the 40-man roster. The 29-year-old recently resumed throwing and should have plenty of time to build back to full strength for spring training.

Resumes throwing Pirates director of sports medicine Todd Tomczyk said Wednesday that Peters (back) has resumed throwing, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.
Impact Peters landed on the 10-day injured list with a lower-back strain last week, and he won't have enough time to ramp up his workload prior to the end of the regular season. The southpaw's injury carries a recovery timetable of approximately three weeks, so he should have a fairly normal offseason. Peters made six starts in the big leagues this year and recorded a 3.71 ERA and 1.35 WHIP in 26.2 innings.

Out with back strain Peters was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday with a lower-back strain, Alex Stumpf of DKPittsburghSports.com reports.
Impact Peters apparently suffered the injury during Monday's start against the Reds, when he gave up four runs on four hits with three strikeouts and two walks. The left-hander will be eligible to return before the end of the season (assuming the move is retroactive), though it's unclear if he's expected to be activated for one final start in 2021.

Chased after three Peters pitched three innings giving up four runs on four hits and two walks while striking out three in Monday's loss to the Reds. He did not factor into the game's decision.
Impact The 29-year-old surrendered all four runs in the third inning. He gave up a two-RBI double to Nicholas Castellanos and then a two-run home run to Joey Votto. It was the first time in six starts that Peters allowed more than three runs. After entering Monday with a 2.66 ERA, he now owns 3.71 ERA through 26.2 innings. His next start is projected to be Saturday versus the Phillies.

Tosses five scoreless frames Peters (1-2) earned the win Tuesday after firing five shutout innings against the Reds. He allowed five hits and a walk while striking out five.
Impact Peters blanked his opponent for the first time this season en route to picking up his first win. The southpaw used just 39 pitches to shut out the Reds on no hits or walks through the first three innings and cruised from there. It's a small sample, but Peters has been solid in five starts this year, pitching to the tune of a 2.66 ERA across 23.2 innings despite a 1.67 WHIP. The 29-year-old tentatively lines up for a road start Sunday at Miami.

Fans five no-decision Peters allowed two runs on three hits and three walks while striking out five across four innings during Tuesday's win against the Tigers. He did not factor into the decision.
Impact Peters, who was activated off the injured list ahead of Tuesday's start, missed the minimum 10 days with back troubles. The 29-year-old experienced a troublesome third inning during which he allowed an RBI triple to Derek Hill and an RBI single to Robbie Grossman. Otherwise, Peters held things together enough to align the Pirates for an eventual win. Since getting called up from Triple-A Indianapolis, the southpaw has compiled a 3.38 ERA and 1.29 WHIP across 18.2 innings.

Activated ahead of start Peters (back) was activated off the injured list Tuesday and will start against the Tigers.
Impact Peters wound up missing the minimum 10 days while battling a back issue. He was effective in three starts prior to the injury, recording a 3.07 ERA and 1.23 WHIP, though he struck out just 15.9 percent of opposing batters.
