Impact The move replenishes Detroit's bullpen after Beau Brieske (ankle) was placed on the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move. Hanifee cracked the Tigers' Opening Day roster, and in seven appearances before being optioned to Triple-A on Tuesday, he posted a 2.25 ERA and 1.12 WHIP across eight innings.

Impact Margot was diagnosed with a patellar tendon strain in his left knee, which caused him to be placed on the 10-day injured list April 8. He appears to be progressing in his recovery running in the outfield, but he'll likely need to go on a rehab assignment before being activated from the IL. Prior to his injury, Margot went 6-for-20 with one run scored and three RBI.

Impact It was very light tossing from a short distance, but it nonetheless seems to be a step forward for the outfielder. Meadows is coming back from a nerve issue in his right arm and will need to rebuild his arm strength. He's already on the 60-day injured list, making him ineligible to return until late May.

Impact Brieske has now allowed seven earned runs across 7.1 innings in 2025 and has only struck out four. Last year, the righty posted a 3.59 ERA and 69 strikeouts across 67.2 regular-season innings, emerging as one of Detroit's most dependable relievers. Brieske should be able to get back on track, though he'll need to start missing more bats to really get going.

The 25-year-old right-hander has won four straight games at Comerica Park dating back to the 2024 regular season, and through his first four starts in 2025 he's posted a 4.50 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 18:10 K:BB across 20 innings.
