Finishes wild game for first win Price (1-0) took the win against San Diego on Friday, pitching two scoreless innings and allowing one walk while striking out four.
Impact A day after Price picked up his first career save against Colorado, he was summoned in the 11th inning of an intense game against the division-rival Padres. The southpaw shut down San Diego in the 11th frame, then stuck around to notch the final three outs after Los Angeles came up with five runs in the top of the 12th. Price played a part in the offensive outburst, plating a run with a sacrifice fly to left field. The veteran got off to a rough start this season, but he has found his groove over his past three appearances, pitching four scoreless innings and notching an 8:1 K:BB.

Secures first career save Price struck out two in a scoreless ninth inning against the Rockies on Thursday en route to the save. He allowed two hits.
Impact Kenley Jansen had worked the night before, throwing 19 pitches. Manager Dave Roberts did not turn back to Jansen on Thursday, instead giving the ball to Price with Yonathan Daza, Alan Trejo and the pitcher's spot due up. The lefty made things interesting, allowing the first two batters he faced to reach, but Price ultimately buckled down and emerged with his first career regular-season save. It was his fourth relief appearance of the 2021 campaign.

Scratched from scheduled start Price was scratched from his scheduled start during Sunday's spring game against the Angels due to an illness, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.
Impact Price was initially slated to start Sunday's Cactus League matchup with Tony Gonsolin coming on in relief, but Price was feeling under the weather ahead of the matchup. As a result, Gonsolin will start against the Angels. There have been some discussions about Price coming out of the bullpen to begin the season, but it's unlikely that his illness will force him to miss time to begin the 2021 campaign.

Boston Red Sox fandom and that trolling Mookie Betts billboard
Returns to starting role Price started Thursday's Cactus League contest against Arizona, completing 2.2 innings and allowing two runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out one.
Impact This was Price's first start of the spring, as he came out of the bullpen in his previous two outings. The southpaw survived a shaky first inning in which he gave up a single and a double without yielding a run, but things didn't turn out as well in the third, when Price gave up four singles and a walk, leading to a pair of Arizona runs. The veteran's role for the coming campaign remains a mystery; he is still a candidate to be part of the starting rotation, though there have been some discussions about Price coming out of the bullpen to begin the season.

Strong in second spring outing Price tossed three scoreless innings against Cleveland in a Cactus League game Friday, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out two.
Impact Price followed Walker Buehler on the mound Friday and looked sharp, limiting Cleveland to a single and a walk. He was pitching on just three days' rest following his spring debut Monday, and there has been some discussion about the left-hander pitching out of the bullpen to begin the campaign. Price hasn't shown much rust despite opting out last season; he has yet to allow a run in four spring innings.
