Impact Price has been limited to seven, 31 and 12 pitches in his three outings since returning from the injured list in the middle of May. That number isn't likely to go up drastically Thursday, though if he does remain in the game to retire nine batters, it will likely represent an uptick in workload.

Impact Starting his first game since 2019, Price was expected to headline a bullpen effort and did so admirably by permitting zero runs. Given the success, it's logical for skipper Dave Roberts to extend the lefty's leash as he attempts regain a contributing role in Los Angeles' stacked albeit banged-up rotation. After allowing five runs in his first two outings, Price has only allowed one run in his last nine innings.

Gets start for bullpen game Price is slated to start Thursday against the Diamondbacks in what's expected to be a bullpen game for the Dodgers, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.
Impact Given that Price tossed an inning of relief Tuesday and hasn't recorded more than six outs in any of his eight appearances on the season, Toribio suspects that the lefty will be capped at around one or two frames in his first start as a member of the Dodgers. Meanwhile, Edwin Uceta, who covered three innings out of the bullpen Sunday against the Marlins, looks like the top candidate to work as a bulk reliever, if the Dodgers decide to go that route. Los Angeles will require a fifth starter again May 29 against the Giants, so it's possible Price could be tasked with working longer in that game if he fares well in the opener role Thursday.
