Colorado Rockies left-hander Austin Gomber will miss the rest of the season after team doctors discovered a stress fracture in his lower back

Placed on injured list Joe was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a right hamstring strain, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
Impact This seemed inevitable after it was revealed Joe strained his hamstring while running from first to third in the third inning of Friday's game. While the strain has been deemed "mild," these injuries typically require more than the minimum 10 days. Joshua Fuentes was recalled to take Joe's spot on the active roster.

Suffers mild hamstring strain Joe suffered a mild right hamstring strain in Friday's win over Atlanta, Nick Groke of The Athletic reports.
Impact Manager Bud Black said after Friday's game that Joe's injury is "not the best of scenarios," but he said that he doesn't expect that the 29-year-old will miss the remainder of the season. He'll presumably be evaluated in the coming days, but Black said that a trip to the injured list is possible.

Productive as leadoff man Joe went 1-for-2 with a double, two walks, two runs and an RBI in Sunday's 8-4 loss to the Diamondbacks. He also reached base when he was hit by a pitch in the bottom of the first...
Impact The Rockies haven't missed a beat since Joe stepped in as the team's everyday left fielder and leadoff hitter following Raimel Tapia's placement on the 10-day injured list earlier this month with a strained toe. While assuming table-setting duties in each of the past 12 games, Joe has reached base at a .370 clip while chipping in two home runs, seven runs and six RBI. Tapia is making progress in his recovery and should ramp up baseball activities this week, but since a target date for his return from the IL hasn't been established, Joe should still have a decent amount of leash atop the Colorado lineup.

Impact Joe celebrated his 29th birthday in style Monday, mashing his fifth home run of August while adding another base hit to boost his average to .311 on the month. He should continue to play on a near-everyday basis in the outfield while Raimel Tapia (toe) is on the injured list.

Impact After going hitless in his first four at-bats, Joe took San Francisco closer Jake McGee 407-feet deep to left in the ninth to bring Colorado within one in an effort that came up just short. He's never been a huge power threat with 21 home runs in 154 career Triple-A games, though the 28-year-old outfielder now has four long balls in August and six on the season.
