Will Benson - Blasts grand slam in loss Benson went 1-for-3 with a grand slam and a walk in Friday's 10-8 loss to the Diamondbacks.
Impact Benson snapped a month-long homer drought with his ninth-inning slam, which got the Reds within two runs but no closer. During the 22-game power drought, he hit .250 with just one RBI, six extra-base hits and four stolen bases. The outfielder is up to eight long balls, 24 RBI, 39 runs scored, 14 thefts and a .278/.379/.502 slash line over 243 plate appearances this season.

Nick Martini - Breaks out with two homers Martini went 2-for-3 with a pair of home runs, four RBI, one walk and three total runs scored in Friday's 10-8 loss to the Diamondbacks.
Impact Martini had gone 0-for-6 with a walk over his first three games since he was selected to the Reds' roster Tuesday. He made a noticeable impact Friday with a solo shot in the second inning and a three-run blast in the sixth. The 33-year-old outfielder has found a path to playing time between right field and designated hitter with Jake Fraley (toe) and Stuart Fairchild (concussion) on the injured list. Martini slashed a strong .275/.393/.481 with 15 homers over 93 games with Triple-A Louisville prior to his call-up.

Hunter Greene - Struggles again Friday Greene (2-6) allowed five runs on five hits and five walks while striking out four over 3.2 innings to take the loss Friday versus the Diamondbacks.
Impact Greene was pummeled for five home runs in his return from a two-month absence with a hip injury last week. The only bright side from Friday's outing was that he was able to keep the ball in the yard, but the five walks were a season high for the hard-throwing righty. He's now at a 5.06 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 108:39 K:BB through 80 innings across 16 starts this season. Greene is tentatively projected for a road start in San Francisco next week.

Nick Lodolo - Pulled off rehab assignment Lodolo (tibia) has officially been pulled off his rehab assignment, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.
Impact Lodolo suffered another stress reaction in his left tibia during his third rehab start with Triple-A Louisville on Sunday, which is the same injury that has kept him out for the bulk of the season. While no timetable has been established, it seems unlikely at this point that he'll be able to make it back before the end of the regular season.

Ben Lively - Could be activated Saturday Lively (pectoral) could be activated from the 15-day injured list Saturday, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Impact Lively has rejoined the Reds in Arizona rather than making another rehab start. He could start Saturday's game, or a piggyback situation with Brett Kennedy also seems to be on the table. Lively has been out since early August with a right pectoral strain.

Hunter Greene - Slated to start Friday The Reds are now listing Greene as their probable starting pitcher for Friday's game in Arizona, the Associated Press reports.
Impact Cincinnati initially planned on having Greene take the hill Saturday, which would have allowed him to start on five days' rest after he was blasted for nine runs (eight earned) on 10 hits -- including five home runs -- and three walks over three innings against the Blue Jays in his return from the 60-day injured list last Sunday. It's unclear what prompted the Reds to change plans and keep Greene on his typical four days' rest, but he'll presumably be flipping spots with Brett Kennedy, who is now expected to start Saturday's game.

Impact All six of the hits against Williamson were singles, and he picked up his fifth quality start of the campaign. The southpaw struck out exactly six batters for the third straight game, and he's pitched well over that stretch despite not picking up any wins, posting a 2.60 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 18:4 K:BB over 17.1 innings. Williamson has had a few blow-ups this season but has been mostly consistent, giving up three or fewer earned runs in 14 of his 18 outings. He's at a 4.18 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 82:33 K:BB over 92.2 frames overall.
