Noelvi Marte - Two hits in return Marte started at shortstop and went 2-for-4 with a run scored in Wednesday's 4-3 win over Detroit.
Impact Marte returned to the starting lineup for the first time since suffering a fractured nose during warmups prior to a game last Saturday. He had resumed playing Tuesday, when he scored the winning run as a pinch runner in extra innings. This was Marte's first start at shortstop, as Elly De La Cruz was given his first rest day since the All-Star break.

Derek Law - Opening Thursday Law will start Thursday's game against the Tigers, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Impact Thursday will mark the third start of the season for Law. The 32-year-old righty has pitched to a 3.83 ERA and 1.44 WHIP across 49.1 innings and will likely last an inning or two on the mound before Ben Lively (illness) picks up bulk innings in relief.

Tejay Antone - Dealing with elbow injury Antone left Wednesday's game against the Tigers due to right elbow discomfort, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Impact After recently making his way back from the second Tommy John surgery of his career, Antone is reportedly once again having troubles with his elbow. The Reds will likely run some tests to determine if there is any structural damage in Antone's elbow, but given Antone's injury history, the team might decide to play it safe and put him on the shelf for the year.

Tejay Antone - Exits with trainer Antone was removed from Wednesday's game against Detroit with an apparent injury, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Impact The Reds haven't specified what kind of injury Antone is currently dealing with, but more information should be available shortly. Antone recently returned from the injured list after working his way back from his second Tommy John surgery.

Will Benson - Sitting out against southpaw Benson is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Tigers.
Impact The Reds are facing a lefty for the second day in a row and Benson has been absent from the lineup both times. He did receive two plate appearances off the bench Tuesday, so perhaps he'll make another mid-game appearance Wednesday.
SEPTEMBER 13, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Jake Fraley - Out against left-hander Fraley is not in the lineup for Wednesday's tilt versus the Tigers.
Impact Southpaw Eduardo Rodriguez is taking the ball for Detroit, so Fraley will grab a seat. He's been limited to designated hitter since returning from a toe injury, but those duties will fall to Hunter Renfroe in this one.
SEPTEMBER 13, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Tyler Stephenson - Taking seat Wednesday Stephenson is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Tigers.
Impact Luke Maile will do the catching for Connor Phillips. Stephenson and Maile have alternated starts behind the plate for the last eight contests.
SEPTEMBER 13, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Joey Votto - Absent from lineup Votto is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Tigers.
Impact Votto started the first two games back from the injured list, but he'll take a seat in this one. Christian Encarnacion-Strand is at first base and Hunter Renfroe will occupy the designated hitter spot.

Noelvi Marte - Returns to lineup Marte (nose) is starting at shortstop and batting seventh Wednesday versus the Tigers in his return to the lineup.
Impact Marte scored as a pinch-runner in Tuesday's win over the Tigers, but this will be his first start since he suffered a broken nose pregame Saturday. He's filling in at shortstop for Elly De La Cruz, who is getting a day off.
SEPTEMBER 13, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Elly De La Cruz - Getting day off Wednesday De La Cruz is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Tigers.
Impact De La Cruz is sporting a .459 OPS with no home runs over his last 19 games, so it's probably not a bad time for him to recharge his battery. Noelvi Marte will play shortstop Wednesday.
SEPTEMBER 13, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Noelvi Marte - Scores as pinch runner Marte (nose) entered Tuesday's game as a pinch runner in the top of the 10th inning and scored a run in a 6-5 win over the Tigers.
Impact Marte made his first appearance since sustaining a broken nose during pre-game warmups Saturday. He replaced Nick Martini as the automatic runner, then played third base in the bottom of the 10th. It's unclear if the Reds are confident enough to have Marte play an entire game.
SEPTEMBER 13, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Tyler Stephenson - Plates winning run Stephenson went 1-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 6-5 extra-inning win over Detroit.
Impact Stephenson lined a pitch to right field to score the eventual game-winning run. The catcher fought off a nasty second-half slump and is 9-for-23 (.391) with four extra-base hits and six RBI over the last six games.
SEPTEMBER 13, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Andrew Abbott - Will start against Mets Abbott's next start will come during the series against the Mets that opens Friday in New York, Gordon Wittenmyer of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports. Reds manager David Bell said h...
Impact Bell is trying to manage Abbott's workload. The rookie left-hander blew past his previous career-high innings (118.0) in early August and is up to 153 in 2023. The workload appears to be impacting Abbott's performance, as the 24-year-old has a 6.51 ERA with 42 hits and 20 walks allowed over the last 37.1 innings.

Impact Diaz shut down the Tigers in the bottom of the ninth inning, retiring all three batters faced and marking his third straight scoreless outing. He then benefitted from a game-winning RBI single by Tyler Stephenson in the top of the 10th inning to earn his ninth win. Diaz has a 2.19 ERA and 80:29 K:BB over 61.2 innings this season.
