Willson Contreras - Hits four singles Contreras went 4-for-5 with four singles and a strikeout in Wednesday's 2-1 extra-inning loss to Cleveland.
Impact Contreras did his part to keep the line moving Wednesday. He's rebounded after a tough stretch to start May -- the catcher has gone 7-for-14 with a pair of RBI and a run scored in his last four games. For the season, he's posted a .248/.349/.459 slash line with seven home runs, 18 RBI, 18 runs scored and two stolen bases in 129 plate appearances.

Joc Pederson - Plates lone run Wednesday Pederson went 3-for-5 with an RBI double in Wednesday's 2-1 extra-inning loss to Cleveland.
Impact Pederson hit an RBI double in the fifth inning, but that was the extent of the Cubs' run-scoring Wednesday. The 29-year-old Pederson has been on a tear lately, going 12-for-25 (.480) with five RBI and three runs scored in his last six games. The surge has lifted his season slash line to .244/.337/.321 with one home run, nine RBI and eight runs scored in 92 plate appearances. Pederson entered Wednesday with a .319 BABIP, indicating he's had some poor luck at the plate so far.

Keegan Thompson - Charged with first loss Thompson (1-1) gave up an unearned run on a hit and two walks in two-thirds of an inning in Wednesday's extra-inning loss to Cleveland.
Impact One of Thompson's walks was of the intentional variety to load the bases. He got Cesar Hernandez to pop up for the second out, but Amed Rosario lined a walkoff single to right. Thompson has yet to allow an earned run in his first 8.1 big-league innings. He's posted a 1.56 WHIP and 2:6 K:BB in four appearances and he's likely best suited for low-leverage work as he adjusts to the majors.

Zach Davies - Allows one run in no-decision Davies allowed a run on five hits and two walks with four strikeouts in 5.1 innings versus Cleveland on Wednesday. He did not factor in the decision.
Impact The only run against Davies came in the sixth inning on an Amed Rosario RBI double. The 28-year-old Davies had an inconsistent start to the season, but he's allowed just three runs (two earned) in 16.1 innings across his last three starts. The right-hander has a 5.60 ERA, 1.75 WHIP and 22:21 K:BB in 35.1 innings overall. He's projected to face Washington next week.

Amed Rosario - Knocks in both runs Wednesday Rosario went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI in Wednesday's 2-1 extra-inning win over the Cubs.
Impact Rosario hit a game-tying RBI double in the sixth inning and a walkoff RBI single in the 10th to drive home both runs for Cleveland. The 25-year-old has recorded multiple hits in three of the seven games he's played this month, but he's 0-for-15 in the other four contests. Overall, Rosario has a .211/.279/.347 slash line with two home runs, nine RBI, 14 runs scored and a stolen base through 104 plate appearances. His versatility has led to playing time at both shortstop and in center field.
