Guardians acquire left-hander Steve Hajjar from Reds to complete Will Benson trade Left-hander Steve Hajjar, a second round pick of the Twins in 2021, will report to minor league camp.
Steven Hajjar - Acquired as PTBNL Hajjar was acquired by the Guardians on Saturday to complete the Will Benson trade.
Impact Hajjar has now been traded twice in his short professional career, as he was dealt from Minnesota to Cincinnati in the deal for Tyler Mahle in August, and he now heads to Cleveland to complete the deal for Benson. The 22-year-old was a second-round pick in 2021 out of the University of Michigan, and he registered a 3.61 ERA with a 83:32 K:BB over 52.1 innings between Low-A Fort Myers and High-A Dayton in 2022. He'll likely report to one of the Guardians' lower-level affiliates to begin 2023.

Richie Palacios - Optioned to Triple-A Palacios was optioned to Triple-A Columbus on Saturday, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.
Impact Palacios didn't make a strong case for a bench spot this spring, posting a .618 OPS over nine games. His .232/.293/.286 line in his 54-game debut last year didn't make a compelling argument either, but he slashed .279/.371/.458 at the Triple-A level and doesn't have much left to prove there.

Roman Quinn - Reassigned to minor-league camp Quinn was assigned to minor-league camp on Saturday, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.
Impact Quinn recorded an .875 OPS in 16 games this spring, though that came with a 38.9 percent strikeout rate. As a non-roster invitee, he always had an uphill battle in front of him, but he could still get a chance whenever the Guardians need another outfielder.

Zack Collins - Sent to minor-league camp Collins was reassigned to minor-league camp Saturday, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.
Impact A career .185/.295/.327 with poor defense behind the plate, Collins was always a long shot to break camp in the big leagues. With catcher of the future Bo Naylor waiting for his chance at the Triple-A level, it's hard to see a path for consistent at-bats in Cleveland for Collins.
