JUNE 7
Takes first loss vs. Texas Green (1-1) took the loss in Tuesday's 2-0 defeat to Texas after allowing two runs (one earned) on two hits and one walk in one inning. He struck out one.
Impact Although it was a non-save situation, Green was unable to keep the game tied in a high-leverage spot. It's still been a strong month for the veteran right-hander, who owns a 2.61 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 10:3 K:BB over 10.1 innings in May. The Blue Jays have displayed continued trust in Jeff Hoffman as their closer while he works through his struggles, but they may have to rely more heavily on Green in high-leverage situations until Yimi Garcia (shoulder) returns to the fold.

Records first save Thursday Green picked up the save in Thursday's 8-5 win over the Angels after throwing a clean ninth inning. He struck out two.
Impact Closer Jeff Hoffman, who had worked each of the past two days and gave up six runs across those outings, unsurprisingly didn't get the call in Thursday's save situation, and it was Green who recorded his first save of the year. Setup man Yimi Garcia has also struggled lately, having yielded seven runs over his last two appearances, but Green is still unlikely to see more than the occasional save opportunity while Toronto's top two bullpen arms work to get back on track. Through 17.1 innings in 2025, Green holds a 3.63 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 17:4 K:BB.

Picks up second hold Green retired the only batter he faced Friday to record his second hold of the season in a 3-1 win over the Mariners.
Impact The right-hander got the final out of the seventh inning, getting Ben Williamson to ground out with a runner in scoring position. Green has had an effective start to the season, posting a 3.12 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 8:2 K:BB through 8.2 innings.

MARCH 29
Breezing through camp Green struck out one in a perfect inning during Monday's Grapefruit League game against the Astros.
Impact The right-hander has been nearly untouchable so far this spring, allowing zero runs or hits over four innings with a 4:1 K:BB. Green recorded a career-high 17 saves in 2024, but the January signing of Jeff Hoffman to be the Blue jays' closer bumped everyone else in the bullpen down a rung. Green has experience in a setup role as well, producing 10 wins and 19 holds for the Yankees over 67 regular-season appearances in 2021.

Escapes with save Green allowed two hits in a scoreless inning Sunday, striking out one and earning a save against the Cardinals.
Impact Green gave up a pair of singles but forced a Jordan Walker pop-out to close out the 3-2 win. Green made his first appearance since coughing up four runs in a loss against the Mets on Sept. 11. It was also his first converted save chance since Aug. 29 after blowing his previous three in September. Green owns a 3.42 ERA with a 44:14 K:BB through 50 innings.

Blows yet another save Green blew the save Sunday against Atlanta, allowing one earned run on two hits and zero walks in one inning. He did not record a strikeout.
Impact Called upon in the ninth to protect a one-run lead, Green allowed back-to-back singles to open the inning before allowing a Matt Olson sacrifice fly to the tie game. Green managed to keep the score tied thanks to a timely double play, but the damage was already done. The 33-year-old has now blown saves in each of his last three appearances, allowing seven earned runs in 2.2 innings during that span. Even with that disastrous stretch, the veteran owns a reputable 2.85 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 42:11 K:BB in 47.1 innings this season, converting 16 of 19 saves.

Blows save Tuesday Green (4-5) blew the save and took the loss Tuesday as the Blue Jays fell 10-9 to the Phillies, coughing up three runs on three hits over two-thirds of an inning. He struck out two...
Impact Toronto held 6-1 and 8-4 leads earlier in the game, but Green completed the collapse by allowing three straight hits to begin the ninth inning, the last of which was a three-run homer by Kyle Schwarber. Green has served up a three-run blast in back-to-back appearances while blowing consecutive save chances, sending his ERA soaring from 1.61 to 2.72, but those were his first two blown saves of the season. The Jays don't have a clear alternative at closer unless Jordan Romano (elbow) is able to make it back in September, so Green should get a chance to work through his struggles.

Takes loss Sunday Green (4-4) took the loss Sunday against the Twins allowing three runs on three hits while striking out a batter over an inning.
Impact Green entered with a 3-1 lead and blew his first save of the season. He retired the first batter he faced before allowing back-to-back singles and then surrendered a three-run homer to Royce Lewis to give the Twins their first lead of the game and eventually the win. Before Sunday's outing, Green was a perfect 16-for-16 in save opportunities, and he had gone five straight scoreless outings. The 33-year-old is still putting together one of the greatest seasons of his career, posting a 2.17 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 40:11 K:BB in 45.2 innings.
