INJURIES

Returning to lineup Correa (illness) will start at third base and bat sixth against the Mariners on Friday.
Impact Correa missed the Astros' last two games while recovering from an illness. The 31-year-old had been trending upward prior to getting sick, going 7-for-26 (.269) with seven RBI and eight runs scored in his last seven games.
APRIL 10 • ROTOWIRE
Sitting out again with illness Correa is absent from the lineup for a second straight day Wednesday in Colorado due to illness, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.
Impact Correa wasn't at the ballpark at all Tuesday, but he was there Wednesday and went through a light workout. It's possible he will be available off the bench, but Correa will aim to return to the Astros' starting lineup Friday in Seattle after his team is idle Thursday. Isaac Paredes will handle third base duties again Wednesday.
APRIL 8 • ROTOWIRE
Resting Tuesday Correa isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rockies.
Impact Correa is slashing .283/.360/.489 against southpaws since 2024, but he'll step out of the lineup Tuesday despite left-hander Kyle Freeland taking the mound for Colorado. Isaac Paredes will man the hot corner instead and bat fourth.

Impact Correa struck out in each of his first two plate appearances but walked and stole a base before scoring on a Cam Smith single in the fifth. He singled and scored in the seventh and singled home a run in the top of the 10th inning to give Houston a 10-9 lead. Through 10 games this season, Correa is slashing .263/.349/.368 with one home run, eight RBI, eight runs scored, one stolen base and a 5:6 BB:K across 43 trips to the plate.

Returning Monday Correa (neck) will resume playing in the Grapefruit League on Monday against the Cardinals, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Impact It's worth noting that Correa will be starting at shortstop during his return to play -- something that may become more common while Jeremy Pena sits with a fractured finger. If Pena's absence extends into the regular season, Correa would slide back over to shortstop while Isaac Paredes starts at the hot corner.
MARCH 7 • ROTOWIRE
Will shift to SS if Pena not ready Astros manager Joe Espada said Friday on Foul Territory that Correa (neck) would move to shortstop if Jeremy Pena (finger) isn't available Opening Day.
Impact Pena's status for the opener hasn't been determined yet, as he will have his fractured right ring finger reevaluated in two weeks. If Pena requires a trip to the injured list, Correa will slide over to his familiar shortstop position and Isaac Paredes will be installed at third base. Correa is dealing with a minor injury of his own, having been scratched from Friday's Grapefruit League lineup with a stiff neck, but he's day-to-day.
MARCH 6 • ROTOWIRE
Scratched with neck stiffness Correa was scratched from Friday's Grapefruit League lineup versus the Nationals due to stiffness on the right side of his neck, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Impact Astros manager Joe Espada said of Correa that "we'll see how he feels tomorrow," so it's fair to call the veteran infielder day-to-day for now. Correa had been slated to start at third base Friday, but he is a candidate to slide over to shortstop if Jeremy Pena (finger) isn't ready for Opening Day.
