GAME LOG

INJURIES

Remains out Sunday Correa (heel) remains out of the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians.
Impact Assuming Correa doesn't come off the bench to play, this will make four of five games that the shortstop won't be able to play as he continues to be stymied by plantar Fasciitis in his left heel. With Correa again out of the lineup, Kyle Farmer will get the start at shortstop and hit eighth. Correa should still be considered day-to-day, but fantasy managers will need to monitor this situation for the foreseeable future.

Remains on bench Corres (heel) remains sidelined Saturday against the Guardians.
Impact Correa's right ankle caused much consternation over the winter, but it's been his left leg which has caused problems this season. He's been dealing with plantar fasciitis since late May, and while it's yet to send him to the injured list, he's now missed three of the last four games. It's possible he's back in the lineup Sunday, but the Twins have a scheduled off day, so they could keep him sidelined Sunday in order to give him four consecutive days to rest. Kyle Farmer will start at shortstop in his absence.
1 DAY AGO • ROTOWIRE
Out of Friday's lineup Correa (heel) isn't starting Friday against the Guardians.
Impact Correa aggravated the plantar fasciitis in his left heel during Thursday's contest, but the good news is it seems he could return as soon as Saturday, per Dan Hayes of The Athletic. In the meantime, Kyle Farmer will start at shortstop Friday and bat eighth.
2 DAYS AGO • ROTOWIRE
Plantar fasciitis flares up Correa aggravated the plantar fasciitis in his left heel during Thursday's game against Cleveland, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.
Impact Correa had seemingly recovered from a combination of a muscle strain and plantar fasciitis in his left foot, but it seems the latter remains an issue. It's still unknown how long Correa will be out, but it's possible he's facing a trip to the injured list this time around.
3 DAYS AGO • ROTOWIRE
Exits early Thursday Correa was removed from Thursday's game against Cleveland early, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
Impact The reason for Correa's early exit is unclear, but the Twins should provide more details in the near future. The 28-year-old shortstop had been dealing with a foot injury, so it's possible his old injury flared back up. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now.
3 DAYS AGO • ROTOWIRE
Absent from lineup Correa is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Astros.
Impact Correa had played the last three contests after missing a little time with a heel issue and plantar fasciitis, but he'll take a seat for this one. Kyle Farmer is playing shortstop.
4 DAYS AGO • ROTOWIRE
Base hit in return to action Correa went 1-for-4 in his return to Sunday's lineup against the Blue Jays.
Impact Correa was slotted back in at shortstop and hit third after sitting out Saturday's game while managing some foot and heel discomfort. He singled his first time up and nearly missed a home run to center in the eighth. It's been an unusually slow season thus far at the plate for the 28-year-old, who is now slashing .216/.392/.700 with six homers, 24 RBI, 14 runs and a 24:45 BB:K over 201 plate appearances.
6 DAYS AGO • ROTOWIRE
Back in lineup Sunday Correa is hitting third and playing shortstop against the Blue Jays on Sunday.
Impact Correa missed Saturday's contest against Toronto, but he's back in the lineup as expected for the series finale. Fantasy GMs should expect Minnesota to give Correa an occasional day of rest during the summer months to manage his plantar fasciitis and keep him healthy down the stretch.
MAY 28 • ROTOWIRE
On bench Saturday Correa is not in the starting lineup Saturday against Toronto.
Impact Correa made his return to the lineup Friday after missing a few games with foot and heel discomfort, which is now understood to be plantar fasciitis. The 28-year-old went 1-for-3 with two walks in Friday's 3-1 loss and will be replaced at shortstop by Kyle Farmer, who will bat eighth versus the Blue Jays.
MAY 27 • ROTOWIRE
Returns to lineup Friday Correa (foot/heel) is in the Twins' lineup Friday versus the Blue Jays, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.
Impact Correa has been sidelined for much of this week due to foot and heel discomfort, but he tested it all out during a pregame workout and felt good enough to give it a go in the series opener against Toronto. Given the diagnosis here -- plantar fasciitis along with a muscle strain in the arch of his left foot -- more days off for rest and treatment should be expected even as Correa thankfully manages to avoid the injured list.
MAY 26 • ROTOWIRE
Optimism about avoiding IL Twins manager Rocco Baldelli said Friday that he's optimistic Correa (foot) will be able to avoid the injured list, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.
Impact Correa hasn't played since Monday due to plantar fasciitis in his left heel and a muscle strain in the arch of the same foot, but Baldelli's comments suggest that the star shortstop could be back in action sometime during Minnesota's three-game weekend series against the Blue Jays. It's something that Correa might have to manage for a while, taking off-and-on breaks.

Impact After undergoing an MRI on Tuesday, Correa was revealed to be dealing with bruising and inflammation to the heel, but Baldelli's latest update suggests the veteran shortstop's injury could be more serious. Correa is out of the lineup for the second day in a row Wednesday, and the Twins still seem to be holding out hope that the 28-year-old can show enough improvement coming out of Thursday's off day to avoid the IL. Kyle Farmer is filling in at shortstop Wednesday and would be the primary option to pick up starts at the position if Correa requires a shutdown of any length of time.
MAY 24 • ROTOWIRE
Takes seat to manage heel injury Correa (heel) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Giants.
Impact Correa's move to the bench for the day game after a night game comes as little surprise after an MRI administered on his bruised left heel Tuesday revealed inflammation. The Twins are treating Correa as day-to-day for the time being, presumably with the hope that he'll be fit to return to the lineup at some point during the weekend series with Toronto following a team off day Thursday. Kyle Farmer will pick up another start at shortstop Wednesday while Correa sits for a second consecutive day.
MAY 24 • ROTOWIRE
MRI shows heel inflammation An MRI on Correa's bruised left heel showed inflammation and he's unlikely to play Wednesday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
Impact Correa was scratched from the lineup Tuesday due to the issue. With an off day Thursday, Correa would get three days off if he sits out Wednesday's game. Kyle Farmer started at shortstop in Tuesday's game and will likely stay at the position until Correa returns.
MAY 24 • ROTOWIRE
Scratched with bruised heel Correa was scratched from the lineup Tuesday due to a bruised left heel, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
Impact This sounds like a day-to-day type of situation for Correa. Kyle Farmer will play shortstop and bat sixth versus the Giants and right-hander Alex Cobb. Donovan Solano is playing third base and hitting second.

Heating up against Cubs Correa went 2-for-5 with one double, two RBI and one run scored in Sunday's 16-3 win over the Cubs.
Impact After a slow start to the season (hitting .185 with a .624 OPS through his first 32 games), Correa is hitting .333 (7-for-21) with a home run and four doubles in his last five games. He has a 1.058 OPS over that span.
MAY 15 • ROTOWIRE
Clubs sixth homer Correa went 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in Saturday's 11-1 rout of the Cubs.
Impact He piled up his production after the game was well in hand, connecting on a solo shot in the seventh inning and a two-run single in the eighth. Correa is showing signs of life at the plate -- he's cracked an extra-base hit in four straight games and has three of his six homers on the season in May, along with 11 of his 21 RBI -- but through 11 contests on the month he's still batting just .196 (9-for-46).
MAY 14 • ROTOWIRE
Hits key double amid slow start Correa went 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Thursday's 5-3 victory over the Padres.
Impact Correa has had a slow start to the season as he's hitting just .191 with a .646 OPS. He came through with a key double late in the game to give the Twins the lead, so perhaps it's a sign he's set to break out of his slump. He's drawing walks (10.6 BB%) and striking out (21 K%) at similar rates to his career averages, so he may be just a bit unlucky so far with a .204 BABIP.
