INJURIES

Strikes out side for save Faucher struck out three batters in a perfect inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 9-8 win over the Rockies.
Impact Faucher needed 18 pitches, but he got the job done cleanly after the Marlins rallied ahead in the top of the ninth inning. The right-hander is up to four saves in five opportunities since he became the Marlins' closer at the end of July. He's allowed six runs and posted a 13:5 K:BB over 10 innings in August, so he hasn't been dominant, but there are few other options to challenge him on a rebuilding team. Overall, Faucher has a 3.44 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 56:24 K:BB through 49.2 innings this year.
AUGUST 28, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Notches third save Faucher pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn his third save of the season Sunday against the Mets. He allowed two hits and zero walks while striking out two batters.
Impact Called upon to protect a one-run lead in the ninth, Faucher stumbled by allowing back-to-back singles to start the inning. He recovered nicely, however, striking out Jeff McNeil and inducing a Francisco Lindor flyout before striking out Mark Vientos to end the game. The 28-year-old Faucher has pitched well since taking over the Marlins closer role following the Tanner Scott trade on July 30. Faucher owns a 3.38 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 10:4 K:BB in eight innings since the trade, converting three of four save opportunities.
AUGUST 19, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Notches second save Faucher gave up a hit, a walk and a hit by pitch in a scoreless ninth inning Wednesday to record his second save of the season in a 6-4 win over the Reds.
Impact The right-hander was far from dominant, needing 29 pitches (14 strikes) to get through the frame, but he escaped a bases-loaded jam by getting Jeimer Candelario to ground out. Faucher is getting the first chance to become the Marlins' new closer in the wake of the Tanner Scott trade, and he's been tagged for earned runs in only one of his last 11 appearances, posting a 2.31 ERA and 12:5 K:BB through 11.2 innings over that stretch despite a shaky 1.46 WHIP.
AUGUST 8, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Rebounds with first save Faucher allowed a hit and struck out two over a scoreless inning to earn the save in Saturday's 4-3 win over Atlanta.
Impact Faucher took a blown save and a loss after allowing three runs in an inning Friday, but he bounced back Saturday to collect his first save since 2022. Once again, Anthony Bender and Andrew Nardi pitched earlier in the game than Faucher. For the season, Faucher has a 3.46 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 46:21 K:BB over 41.2 innings while adding 11 holds. The 28-year-old right-hander's walk rate is not ideal for a high-leverage reliever, but it's likely a non-issue for a Marlins team that isn't expected to produce many save chances the rest of the way.
AUGUST 4, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Stumbles in high-leverage spot Faucher (2-3) blew the save and took the loss Friday against Atlanta, getting tagged for three runs on three hits and two walks in the eighth inning. He struck out one.
Impact Manager Skip Schumaker continues to play it coy when it comes to the Marlins' closer situation in the wake of the Tanner Scott trade. After rookie Valente Bellozo gave the team five innings as the starter, Anthony Bender worked the sixth, Andrew Nardi the seventh and then Faucher the eighth, leaving open the question of who would have gotten the ninth has Faucher not coughed up a 3-2 lead. The blown save was Faucher's third of the year against two successful conversions, and Friday's implosion was the first time he's been charged with multiple earned runs since June 17. The situation could be headed for a committee approach, but at least so far, Schumaker has been more willing to deploy Nardi and Bender earlier in the game in key spots, making Faucher a slightly more likely option to eventually get some saves.
AUGUST 3, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Gets call in ninth inning Faucher struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Wednesday during a 6-2 win over the Rays.
Impact It wasn't a save situation, but Faucher was still the pitcher manager Skip Schumaker called upon to protect Miami's first ninth-inning lead since Tanner Scott was traded to the Padres. Andrew Nardi, who was viewed as the most likely candidate to take over closing duties, pitched the sixth inning with a two-run lead, while Anthony Bender worked the eighth after the lead was extended to four runs. Faucher has pitched well enough to be in the high-leverage mix -- over his last 15 appearances, the right-hander has posted a 1.93 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 16:6 K:BB in 14 innings.
AUGUST 1, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Picks up 10th hold Faucher gave up a hit and struck out two in a scoreless eighth inning Sunday to record his 10th hold of the season in a win over the Mets.
Impact The 28-year-old right-hander has emerged as a reliable member of the Marlins' set-up crew in the last month or so. Over his last 12 appearances dating back to June 18, Faucher has posted a 2.45 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 12:5 K:BB in 11 innings with a win and five holds. If Miami cleans house at the trade deadline and ships out closer Tanner Scott, Faucher could get a look in the ninth inning.

Shipped to Miami The Rays traded Faucher (biceps) to the Marlins alongside Vidal Brujan on Friday in exchange for Erick Lara, Andrew Lindsey and a player to be named later or cash.
Impact After being DFA'd by the Rays on Tuesday, Faucher will now receive a new home with the Marlins. The 28-year-old righty put up a lowly 7.01 ERA and 1.68 WHIP through 25.2 big-league innings in 2023, and he ended the season on the 60-day injured list due to lingering biceps tendinitis.
NOVEMBER 17, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Designated for assignment Faucher (biceps) was designated for assignment by the Rays on Tuesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Impact Faucher finished the 2023 season on the 60-day injured list because of lingering biceps tendinitis and posted a rough 7.01 ERA in 25.2 innings when healthy. He is no longer part of the club's 40-man roster mix.
NOVEMBER 14, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Recalled, moved to 60-day IL The Rays recalled Faucher (biceps) from Triple-A Durham and placed him on the 60-day injured list Saturday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Impact Faucher has been dealing with biceps tendinitis since late August, and his move to the 60-day IL will free a spot on the 40-man roster for Raimel Tapia, who was selected from Triple-A on Saturday. Faucher logged a 7.01 ERA and 1.68 WHIP through 25.2 innings in the majors this season and will now focus on getting ready for the start of the 2024 campaign.
SEPTEMBER 23, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Sidelined at Triple-A Triple-A Durham placed Faucher on its 7-day injured list Tuesday with an unspecified injury.
Impact Faucher has been a frequent mover between the Rays and Triple-A Durham in 2023, tossing 25.2 innings for the big club and 8.2 innings for the organization's top affiliate. Following his demotion to Durham on July 30, Faucher made just two relief appearances before hitting the shelf. The Rays haven't shed light on whether Faucher's injury is serious enough to end his season.
AUGUST 21, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Sent to minors Faucher was optioned to Triple-A Durham on Sunday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Impact Faucher was roughed up for six runs over two innings Saturday in Houston, and the outing will cost him his spot on the big-league roster. Erasmo Ramirez had his contract selected in a corresponding move.
JULY 30, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Back with Tampa Bay The Rays recalled Faucher from Triple-A Durham on Wednesday.
Impact Faucher will provide Tampa Bay with a fresh arm in relief for what's expected to be a bullpen day in Wednesday's series finale in Texas. Over 19 innings with the big club this season, Faucher has pitched to a 5.21 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 16:11 K:BB.
JULY 19, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Reinstated, optioned to Triple-A The Rays reinstated Faucher (elbow) from the 15-day injured list Tuesday and optioned him to Triple-A Durham.
Impact Faucher began a rehab assignment in rookie ball Monday, but the Rays will decide to keep Faucher in their farm system rather than have him rejoin the bullpen. The 27-year-old righty holds a 5.21 ERA and 1.58 WHIP through 19 innings this season and could return to the majors later this year if he performs well in Triple-A.

Impact Faucher has been on the 15-day injured list since June 7 with right elbow inflammation, but now that he's out on a rehab assignment, he should be on the cusp of an activation. The Rays may want to see the reliever make another appearance or two at a higher-level minor-league affiliate before giving him the green light to rejoin the big-league bullpen.

Lands on IL with elbow injury Faucher was placed on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with right elbow inflammation, Kristie Ackert of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Impact Faucher last pitched Monday, throwing a scoreless inning of relief in a 4-1 win over Boston. He'll be eligible to return later this month, though the Rays aren't yet providing a timeline for Faucher to be activated just yet.
JUNE 7, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Recalled from Triple-A Faucher was recalled from Triple-A Durham by the Rays on Thursday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Impact Faucher can provide some length for a bullpen that's been overworked this week. He holds a 6.43 ERA and 11:6 K:BB across 14 innings with the big club this season.
MAY 25, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Optioned to Durham Tampa Bay optioned Faucher to Triple-A Durham on Sunday.
Impact With Javy Guerra reporting to the Rays on Sunday after his trade to Tampa Bay from Milwaukee on Sunday, Faucher's demotion is necessary to create room on the 26-man roster. The right-hander allowed a run in all but one of his appearances in April while registering a 6.43 ERA and 11:6 K:BB over 14 innings. He'll all but assuredly be back with Tampa Bay in the coming weeks.
APRIL 30, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Opening for Chirinos on Saturday Faucher will serve as the opener for Saturday's game against the White Sox, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports.
Impact Faucher will open the game and work the first inning or two, and Yonny Chirinos will then get the bulk innings after. Because he won't get deep enough to qualify for a win, Faucher shouldn't be considered as a fantasy streamer even as a starter.
APRIL 29, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Stuck with loss as opener Faucher (0-1) took the loss Wednesday, giving up one run on one hit and two walks over two innings as the Rays fell 1-0 to the Astros. He struck out one.
Impact Houston plated a run in the top of the first inning thanks in part to a wild pitch and an error, and that proves to be the game's only bit of offense, saddling Faucher with the loss. The right-hander gave way to Josh Fleming after 43 pitches (23 strikes), and there's no guarantee Faucher continues to see regular work as an opener ahead of the southpaw given his struggles. Through 12.2 innings this season, he has a 5.68 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 10:4 K:BB, and he's been scored upon in six straight appearances.
