Impact Though the Rockies are expected to have Kris Bryant, Charlie Blackmon, Randal Grichuk and Jurickson Profar fill out their designated-hitter and three outfield spots on most occasions, Doyle may at least temporarily factor into the mix while he's swinging a hot bat. Impact Doyle hit his first home run, recorded his second three-hit game and stole his fifth base of the season. He's appeared in nearly every game since being called up in late April, but the offensive results have been sporadic. Sunday's outing was by far his best day at the plate, and he'll likely have to continue providing results to stay in the bigs now that Colorado's outfield is healthy again.

Impact Doyle got the start in center field and broke an 0-for-15 stretch at the plate with an infield single in the seventh inning. He subsequently stole second base and scored on a sacrifice fly. Doyle has four thefts on the campaign, but his other stats -- including a .174/.269/.217 slash line -- suggest that he'll likely work mostly off the bench now that Randal Grichuk is back in action.

Recalled from Triple-A Doyle was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque by the Rockies on Monday, Danielle Allentuck of The Denver Gazette reports.

Impact Doyle will give the Rockies another option in the outfield with Kris Bryant (lower body) banged up. The 24-year-old has batted .341/.429/.694 with eight homers and a stolen base over 21 games at Albuquerque the last two seasons. He might be interesting in deeper leagues with regular at-bats, but there's no indication he'll receive them or stick around long.

Impact Doyle is a solid prospect within the Rockies organization, and he was added to the team's 40-man roster during the offseason. He has limited experience at the Triple-A level, but he's slashed .341/.429/.694 with eight homers, 20 runs, 17 RBI and a stolen base over 21 games at Triple-A Albuquerque between 2022 and 2023. The 24-year-old has power and speed upside but will need to cut down on his strikeouts if he hopes to succeed at the major-league level.

Impact Rockies general manager Bill Schmidt suggested last month that Doyle could be a candidate for the Opening Day roster, but the 24-year-old outfielder had failed to show much power in the Cactus League while also tallying 12 strikeouts across his 28 at-bats. He posted 26 homers and 23 stolen bases in 132 games last season between Double-A and Triple-A.

In running for Opening Day roster? Rockies general manager Bill Schmidt said Thursday that Doyle is making a case for the 26-man roster, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.

Impact "I sure wouldn't count Doyle out," said Schmidt. "He's looked really good." The 24-year-old outfielder has a lot of swing-and-miss in his plate approach, but he tallied 26 home runs and 23 stolen bases (in 26 attempts) last season between Double-A Hartford and Triple-A Albuquerque. His raw power and speed would likely play well in the inviting offensive environment at Coors Field. Also helping his cause for the Opening Day squad is that he can cover all three outfield spots.
