Placed on 10-day IL
Doyle (oblique) was placed on the 10-day injured list Thursday, retroactive to May 20.
Impact
Doyle was set to miss a second straight contest Thursday, but he's now headed to the IL while nursing a left oblique contusion that he suffered in Tuesday's 10-0 loss to Texas. The outfielder will be eligible to return to action May 30, and in the meantime, Mickey Moniak could enter the lineup against southpaws, while Jake McCarthy handle's the lion's share of the workload in center field.

Day-to-day with oblique bruise
The Rockies announced that Doyle is considered day-to-day after suffering a left oblique contusion during Tuesday's 10-0 loss to the Rangers, Manny Randhawa of MLB.com reports.
Impact
Doyle isn't expected to play in Wednesday's series finale while he continues to be monitored, but the Rockies haven't decided on his availability for their upcoming seven-game road trip. The 28-year-old has posted a career-worst .549 OPS so far this season and appears to have moved into a short-side platoon role in center field in recent weeks.

Exits Tuesday with side contusion
Rockies manager Warren Schaeffer said that Doyle was removed from Tuesday's 10-0 loss to the Rangers prior to the start of the second inning due to a left side contusion, Patrick S...
Impact
Doyle didn't record an at-bat before exiting the game shortly after he was shaken up while attempting to make a diving catch in the top of the first inning. Schaeffer said that Doyle will be re-evaluated early Wednesday before the Rockies determine his status for the series finale.

Exits early Tuesday
Doyle was removed from Tuesday's game against the Rangers with an apparent injury, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
Impact
Doyle seemed to be a little shaken up after landing awkwardly on his right side/shoulder while attempting to make a diving catch in the first inning, and he was replaced on defense at the start of the second frame. The severity of his injury is unclear, but if he's forced to miss additional games, Tyler Freeman could potentially receive more reps in the outfield.

Scores twice
Doyle went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored Saturday against the Diamondbacks.
Impact
Doyle drew the start with lefty Eduardo Rodriguez on the mound and hit second in the lineup. He reached base on a double in the first inning and came around to score, and he followed that up with a single and an additional run scored in the eighth frame. Doyle remains in a small-side platoon, as he's started only one of Colorado's nine games against right-handed pitching since the start of May.

Back on bench for Game 1
Doyle is out of the lineup for Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader against the Mets.
Impact
It's the third absence in the past four games for Doyle, who has a .219/.288/.288 slash line with one homer and six steals through 80 plate appearances this season. Jake McCarthy is picking up another start in center field in Sunday's matinee.

Stolen base in return to lineup
Doyle went 1-for-3 with a run scored, a walk and a stolen base Friday against the Mets.
Impact
Doyle was out of the lineup for each of Colorado's prior two games, though he returned to start in center field Friday. He played a key role in the team's fifth-inning rally, singling to center before coming around to score. Doyle later swiped his sixth base of the season, four of which have come in his last 10 games. Despite the strong showing Friday, Doyle is hitting only .219 with two RBI and 11 runs scored across 26 games to begin the campaign.

Another day off Thursday
Doyle is absent from the lineup for Thursday's tilt versus the Padres.
Impact
It's the second straight day out of the lineup for Doyle, though he did get a plate appearance off the bench Wednesday (and struck out). Doyle has been in the Rockies' lineup for less than 70 percent of his team's games thus far, which is not a rate fantasy managers had in mind when they took the outfielder in drafts this spring. The 27-year-old hasn't exactly made a case to play more, having put together just a .206/.270/.279 batting line and 35.1 percent strikeout rate through 24 contests. Jake McCarthy will make a second consecutive start in center field for the Rockies in Thursday's matinee.

Absent from lineup
Doyle is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres.
Impact
It's a routine day off for Doyle, who is just 2-for-14 with a 0:4 BB:K so far on the Rockies' homestand and sports a lowly .558 OPS on the season. Jake McCarthy will patrol center field and bat ninth in Doyle's stead.

Taking seat Sunday
Doyle is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.
Impact
Doyle will receive a breather after going 2-for-9 with a walk, two stolen bases and a run scored while starting in the Rockies' past three games. Jake McCarthy will cover center field in Doyle's stead Sunday.

Heading to bench Wednesday
Doyle is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros.
Impact
With Doyle taking a seat for the third time in eight games, Jake McCarthy will pick up a start in center field. Though Doyle's status as a two-time Gold Glove Award winner aids his playing-time outlook, his poor form at the plate to begin the season could continue to cost him a couple starts per week nonetheless. He's batting just .188 with two extra-base hits and a career-worst 37.7 percent strikeout rate over 53 plate appearances.

Idle Saturday
Doyle isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against San Diego.
Impact
Doyle has tallied a base hit in each of Colorado's last three games, but the Rockies will keep him on the bench Saturday in favor of Jake McCarthy, who will bat ninth while starting in center field.
