Dealt to Oakland for cash Honeywell was traded from the Rays to the Athletics on Friday in exchange for cash, Shayna Rubin of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Impact Universally considered one of the game's best pitching prospects prior to the 2018 season, injuries have really taken their toll on Honeywell. The A's already have a couple pitchers with a similar track record in A.J. Puk and James Kaprielian. It seems unlikely that Honeywell will make it as a starter, but the Athletics' developmental plan for him should become clearer in the spring.
