Gives up two in no-decision Singer did not factor into the decision Wednesday against the White Sox, allowing two runs on three hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out five.
Impact All of the damage against Singer came on Paul DeJong's two-run homer in the second inning. The right-hander hadn't given up more than a single run in three starts prior to Wednesday -- Singer's now allowed four runs in 23.1 innings this season, all coming via the home-run ball. Overall, he's 2-0 with a 1.54 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and 23:7 K:BB. Singer's next start is tentatively scheduled for early next week against Toronto.

Improves to 2-0 Singer (2-0) earned the win over the Astros on Thursday, allowing one run on five hits over five innings. He struck out four.
Impact A Yainer Diaz home run in the fourth inning was the lone mark against Singer on Thursday. The 27-year-old right-hander has allowed just two runs through his first three starts (18.1 innings) this season, lowering his ERA to a pristine 0.98 with a 0.76 WHIP and 18:4 K:BB. Singer looks to be back on track after a tough 2023 campaign, where he went 8-11 with a 5.52 ERA. He's tentatively lined up for a road matchup with the White Sox in his next outing.

Impact Singer continued his resurgent 2024 campaign with another solid performance Friday night. The only blemish during his outing was a solo homer yielded to Gavin Sheets in the second inning. Singer faces a more difficult test than the White Sox in his next start, currently scheduled to be at home against the Astros.

Electric in season debut Singer (1-0) earned the win after he pitched seven scoreless innings, allowing three hits and a walk while striking out 10 batters in Sunday's 11-0 victory over the Royals.
Impact Singer was in full command in his season debut, throwing 64 of his 98 total pitches for strikes while matching his 2023 season-high 10 punchouts. The right-hander has shown flashes throughout his first four major-league campaigns and he's off to a great start in 2024. He's tentatively set to return to the mound Friday at home versus the White Sox.

Out with back strain Singer was placed on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with a left lower lumbar strain.
Impact The right-hander presumably picked up the injury during Monday's start against Cleveland, during which he gave up four runs over six innings. Singer had a strong six-week stretch from late June to mid-August with a 3.05 ERA across 59 innings, but he moves to the injured list having surrendered 24 earned runs in his past five starts. The 27-year-old won't be eligible to return until after the end of the regular season, and he closes the campaign with a 5.52 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 133:49 K:BB in 159.2 frames. Singer is entering his second year of arbitration eligibility and has more than four months to get healthy for spring training.

Roughed up again Singer did not factor into the decision in Monday's win over Cleveland, allowing four runs on eight hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out four.
Impact Singer's start on Monday marked the fifth straight in which he allowed four or more runs, dating back to Aug. 19. During those outings, the 27-year-old has thrown 24 innings to the tune of a 9.00 ERA, 2.17 WHIP and 17:8 K:BB. The nightmare season has continued for Singer, who sports a 5.52 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 133 strikeouts over 159.2 innings. Things don't get easier for his next start as he's scheduled to pitch at Houston.

Falls to White Sox Singer (8-11) took the loss Tuesday, allowing six runs on nine hits and two walks over 5.1 innings in a 6-2 loss against the White Sox. He struck out two.
Impact Singer would ultimately settle down after giving up five runs in the opening inning, but the Royals couldn't overcome the early deficit, leaving Singer with his third loss in his last four starts. The 27-year-old right-hander has allowed four runs or more in each of his previous four outings, raising his ERA to 5.51 with a 1.44 WHIP and 129:47 K:BB through 28 starts (153.2 innings) this season. Singer's currently in line for a tough home matchup with the Royals in his next outing.
SEPTEMBER 13, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Bumped back by rain Singer will not make his scheduled start Monday against the White Sox with the contest being postponed due to rain.
Impact Singer will have to wait a little longer than anticipated to take the mound, but not much, as he is scheduled to start the first game of the twin bill the Royals and White Sox will play Tuesday. Unless he gets an extra day of rest between starts, he will still get two starts during the current scoring period.

Struggles with power Singer did not factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing six runs on nine hits and one walk over five innings against the White Sox. He struck out two.
Impact Singer surrendered six runs for the second time in his last three starts Tuesday, with each run coming as result of a homer. On the day, the White Sox took Singer yard three times, with Yoan Moncada, Korey Lee and Andrew Vaughn each swatting long balls. Over his last three appearances (12.2 innings), Singer owns a 9.95 ERA and an 11:4 K:BB. He's tentatively scheduled for a rematch with the White Sox early next week.

Back from paternity leave Singer was activated from the paternity leave list Monday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.
Impact Singer is set to rejoin the Royals' rotation Tuesday against the White Sox. The right-hander has been much better in the second half on the whole, although he struggled in his last two starts (9.39 ERA, 2.74 WHIP) before going on paternity leave.
SEPTEMBER 4, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Could start Tuesday Singer (arm) remains on the paternity list but could be activated during the upcoming week to start Tuesday's game against the White Sox, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.
Impact The Royals have already confirmed Cole Ragans and Jordan Lyles as their starters for their games Monday and Wednesday, respectively, making Tuesday the likely target for Singer's return to the rotation. Prior to being placed on the paternity list Friday, Singer hadn't pitched since Aug. 25 due to a bout of right arm fatigue, but he hasn't been shut down from throwing. Rogers notes that Singer was scheduled to complete a bullpen session Sunday, so assuming he checks one fine following the throwing workout, he should be ready to start Tuesday.
SEPTEMBER 3, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Placed on paternity leave Kansas City placed Singer (arm) on the paternity leave list Friday.
Impact It had already been announced that Singer would be skipped on his next turn through the Royals' rotation and now he can spend the time off with his growing family. The 27-year-old right-hander stands 8-10 with a 5.15 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 125:44 K:BB through 143.1 innings (26 starts) this season.

AUGUST 29, 2023 • MLB.COM
Set to be skipped in rotation Singer, "due to a velocity drop and some arm fatigue," is expected to be skipped next time through the Royals' rotation, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.
Impact Singer was on track to make his next start Friday, but it now appears he will not take the mound again until next week. Tests performed on Singer's arm revealed no issues, so it seems the Royals are hoping some rest will help get him back on track after a pair of starts in which he allowed eight earned runs over just 7.2 innings.
AUGUST 28, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Another short start Friday Singer (8-10) took the loss Friday versus the Mariners, allowing four runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out six over four innings.
Impact Singer's first pitch was taken deep to right field by J.P. Crawford, and the right-hander labored through the first inning. He had a couple of scoreless frames before giving up a go-ahead two-run single to Eugenio Suarez in the fourth, which put the Mariners ahead for good. Singer has given up 10 runs (eight earned) over 7.2 innings across his last two starts, a departure from his relatively solid pitching (2.85 ERA, 39:6 K:BB) over 41 innings coming out of the All-Star break. For the year, he's at a 5.15 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 125:44 K:BB through 143.1 innings across 26 starts. Singer is tentatively lined up for a home start versus the Pirates next week.
AUGUST 26, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Lasts just 3.2 innings in loss Singer (8-9) took the loss Saturday, allowing six runs (four earned) on nine hits and two walks over 3.2 innings against the Cubs. He struck out three.
Impact Singer didn't have his best stuff Saturday, allowing runs in each of the first four innings before being relieved by Tucker Davidson. The 27-year-old right-hander lasted just 3.2 innings, marking his shortest outing since May 22, while he also failed to record at least four strikeouts for the first time in his last seven starts. Singer had logged three quality starts in a row prior to Saturday's loss and it was just the third time allowing multiple home runs in a game this season.
AUGUST 20, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Fans eight in no-decision Singer allowed two runs on two hits and a walk over 7.1 innings in Monday's win over Seattle. He struck out eight and did not factor in the decision.
Impact Singer fired seven shutout frames but was charged with two runs after being pulled in the eighth inning. He's shown much better command recently; over his last five starts, Singer has recorded a 35:6 K:BB with a 2.45 ERA. However, his season ERA still sits at 4.91 through 135.2 frames. Singer's next outing is lined up to be against the Cubs in Chicago.
AUGUST 15, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Logs quality start, earns win Singer (8-8) earned the win Tuesday, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks over 6.2 innings against the Red Sox. He struck out four.
Impact Singer was humming along until the fifth inning when Adam Duvall launched a solo shot over the Green Monster in Boston, and Connor Wong later added a run-scoring single. Singer was removed with two outs in the seventh and a runner on, who eventually scored. After a challenging first half, the 27-year-old righty has figured it out in five starts since the All-Star break, posting a 2.94 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and 31:5 K:BB across 33.2 innings during that stretch. He will look to maintain the momentum in his next outing, which is projected to be at home against Seattle early next week.
