Impact It was a gem of an outing for Gomber, who blanked his opponent for just the second time this year and did not issue any free passes for the third time. The left-hander seems to be figuring things out at hitter-happy Coors Field. He's also found success in his recent outings, scattering five runs over his last five starts, lowering his ERA to 4.12 and WHIP to 1.14. Gomber's next projected start lines up for a favorable road matchup Wednesday at Miami.

Flips spots with Jon Gray Gomber is now scheduled to make his next start Thursday at home against the Rangers, Danielle Allentuck of The Denver Gazette reports.

Impact Earlier in the week, Jon Gray was listed as the Rockies' probable starter for Thursday's series finale, but manager Bud Black ultimately elected to push the right-hander back a day in the pitching schedule. He'll now take the hill Friday against the Athletics at Coors Field, allowing Gomber to get the nod Thursday. Both Gomber and Gray made starts in the May 29 doubleheader with the Pirates, so the late switch in the pitching schedule won't affect the other members of the rotation.
