Works in long relief Gomber covered 3.2 innings in relief in Sunday's 10-9 loss to the Brewers, giving up one run on two hits and one walk while striking out three.

Impact With starter Chad Kuhl getting chased from the game midway through the third inning, Gomber stepped in to give Colorado some much-needed length out of the bullpen. While he did well to keep the Brewers' bats at bay, Gomber looks like he'll have to settle for a bullpen role for now with Colorado content to give Jose Urena a trial as their No. 5 starter.

The 28-year-old has assembled a decent four-start stretch to open July -- featuring 4.15 ERA across 21.2 innings -- after compiling a 6.55 ERA through his first 14 turns. Impact The Rockies initially expected Antonio Senzatela (shoulder) to start Sunday's matchup, but Gomber will take the mound since manager Bud Black wants Gomber to keep getting back on track following some early-season struggles. Over his last four outings, the southpaw has posted a 4.19 ERA and 1.19 WHIP in 19.1 innings.

Steady in fifth win Gomber (5-7) allowed one run on six hits, a walk and a hit batter with three strikeouts over six innings, earning the win Tuesday over the Padres.

Impact Gomber was able to limit the damage to a Ha-Seong Kim RBI double in the second inning. The Rockies went ahead on a three-run home run by Charlie Blackmon in the sixth, allowing Gomber to grab his second win in his last three starts since returning to the rotation. This was up there with the best of the southpaw's outings this season, but he still owns a 6.11 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 62:24 K:BB across 84 innings in 17 games (15 starts) overall. It's unclear if Gomber will get another turn in the rotation prior to the All-Star break -- Antonio Senzatela (shoulder) could return for Sunday's game against the Pirates.

Impact Gomber was hounded by Diamondbacks catcher Carson Kelly, who tagged the hurler for three RBI on a homer and a single. Gomber otherwise did fine, though he needed 99 pitches to make it through five frames. The southpaw has yielded seven runs across 10.2 innings in his past two starts -- both against Arizona -- following a two-game run in the bullpen. That may be good enough to keep him in the Colorado rotation, but it isn't going to increase his roster percentage in most fantasy formats.
